You Need to Learn to hear God’s Voice for Yourself

This message was given to me through the instruction of the Holy Spirit who lives inside every person that trusts in, clings to and relies on Jesus Christ, Yahshua ha Mashiach to be their Savior and Lord.
Do you realize that half of the reason that Jesus died was so that we could have the Holy Spirit living inside of us? He went away so that The Comforter could come and now we are the temples of the Living God, not built by human hands.
My friends, The Lord and I desire that you would hear God’s voice for YOURSELF. In the times that are coming upon this world you will need to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and the Lord is leading me to show you how.
I believe that the biggest blockage we have to hearing God’s voice is unconfessed, unrepented of habitual sin even as Christians. This may surprise some of you but it is the truth. We all need to humble ourselves each day like David (Psalm 139:23-24 AMP) “Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” What David was asking is that the Holy Spirit would reveal the sin that was in his heart so that there was nothing separating him from God. Seek the Lord each day to see what He lays upon your heart to confess and repent of. Don’t be prideful and think you don’t sin because that is sin in itself! Jesus will take your sin away and remember it no more if we totally give it over to Him. If you cannot give up a certain sin ask Him for the power to break yourself from it! Without the power of His blood we are powerless against sin and we will fail every time. The key here is your heart attitude, don’t ask for forgiveness and then go right back and do it again. If you long to be close to Yahshua will make yourself holy as He is holy because of your love for Him.
Next, If we want to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying we must enter into the spirit. This is the Secret Place of the Most High (Psalm 91). The best and easiest way that I have found is through the spiritual portal of praise and worship. Every morning I get up and I worship Him with music before I do anything else. I sit there or kneel or lay prostrate or with my hands raised, however the Spirit leads me. I’m not religious about it. At first, if you are not used to doing this, it may seem odd and you may just want to start with 10 or 15 mins, but you will want to go longer once His presence starts to overwhelm your entire being. After you put this into practice, an hour is like no time at all! Take time and enjoy His presence! Just be still and soak yourself in His presence knowing that He loves you and longs for this time with you even more than you love it. After a while this will be your favorite time of the day no matter if you choose morning, noon or night. The important part is to DO IT! Personally I choose the morning because it starts my day out so I can walk in the spirit more successfully.
Brothers and sisters, please do NOT just come before Him with a big long prayer list. Lists have their place but just LOVE ON HIM. Treat Him like your lover because HE IS! He is your first love and you need to treat Him that way. There is NO ONE that loves you more and you should feel the same way about Him! FOCUS ON HIM AND ONLY HIM! Put away everything that distracts you from your alone time with Him even if it is ministry work for His kingdom. If you spend this intimate time with Jesus you will have much more to give to those you are ministering to.
Once I “enter in”, I usually begin to speak and sing in tongues. Yes, speaking in tongues is for today! (1Cor. 13:8-10 AMP) “Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part [for our knowledge is fragmentary and incomplete]. But when that which is complete and perfect comes, that which is incomplete and partial will pass away.” Who and what is that which is complete and perfect? It is Yahshua and His kingdom! It is at that time that the gifts of the Spirit will pass away. Also Paul said to forbid Not speaking in tongues (1 Cor 14:39) and he said (1 Corinthians 14:18 AMP) “I thank God that I speak in [unknown] tongues more than all of you”. Tongues is always the perfect prayer from the Holy Spirit. He prays through you for things that you don’t even know that you have need of and it is always The Fathers perfect will. I also pray for some requests with my understanding, whatever I am led to pray. Each one should pray as they are led to or feel the unction or urging of the Holy Spirit.
Many of you will experience the Holy Spirit speaking to you during your worship time. If He hasn’t spoken to you yet and you desire Him to, you should stay silent and wait for Him to speak to you. You need to sit quietly before The Lord the way that Mary did. Many of us are like Martha running here and there, doing “The Lord’s work” but we hardly ever spend alone time with Him in quietness and stillness. When you make the practice of sitting at His feet every day and listening to the still small voice you just KNOW the difference of His thoughts from your own thoughts. Jesus said, My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. It is my belief that there are many times that the Holy Spirit speaks to His people but they do not recognize His voice.
The voice of the Holy Spirit probably won’t be audible, at least for me it isn’t, but thoughts will start to enter your head that aren’t yours. God’s voice is still and small for He is the humblest of all. You will need to turn down the volume of the outside world to hear Him, but I will tell you it is worth it! He might just say “I love you” or “I want you to do such and such” or ” I need you to work on this or that” Whatever it is obey Him. The longer you do this the clearer His voice will get clearer and you can have conversations back and forth with Him all day long. At times telling His thoughts from yours is a little harder, especially when it is concerning an important decision in your life such as a moving to a new location, getting a new job or family situations. That is when you ask Him to show you confirmation from a couple of different sources, maybe a godly friend, a pastor or spiritual leader or someone you know that hears The Holy Spirit.
It is my experience that if God is speaking to you about a certain thing He will NOT let it go until you do what He is asking of you. You will have an urge or an unction from The Holy Spirit to do something, and I suggest that you step out in faith and do it. Do not be afraid to step out especially if the thing you are feeling to do is good to do anyways. Do not be afraid to make a mistake or two at first. Satan will never tell you to do anything that is good. He will tell you that what you are hearing is all in your head and it’s all lies. If you feel like you should give someone encouragement by all means do it! If you believe you are to rebuke or reprimand someone give a lot more prayer to see if that’s really what He would have you do.
Whatever you do, do it in love!
I just want to point out that I am not yet perfect and occasionally I make a mistake. I do not hear His voice perfectly but I hear Him a lot better now than I even did last year. We all need to try to hear Him better, because one day the internet will be silenced and you will not be able to see or hear what the prophets are saying. (John 16:13 AMP) “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].”
