Who Do You Think You Are?

They framed a Constitution
For it to hold solutions
Then they passed amendments
In order to defend us
But it did not hold true
To shield us from the slew
Of the power hungry peoples
In their domes with steeples
Roofing hallowed halls
Where they pass their laws
Hire their cops
Hide their flaws
And never stop
Telling us what to do
Showing us who is boss
Say, we do not work for you
You all work for us
All that you produce
We will take a cut
So we can live in mansions
While you dwell in a hut
And feel grateful for it
For you could be on the streets
Hiding from the rain
Under a plastic sheet
Or perhaps in a camp
With a lock and no key.
Watch yourselves!
We know where you are!
Your phone to keep in touch
With your friends and family
Is being tracked by us
You are never free
To move about unseen
You will never have
Any privacy.
We control the money
We control the roads
We have ways to punish you
If you go out of our control
And live your life
With your husband or your wife
And try to keep your kids
Out of our schools
Where we teach them our thoughts
And lay down our rules
Give them our shots
To make them sick like you.
Who do you think you are?
You are not us
The privileged few
Who have all the rights
To tell you what to do!
Do you not know who you are?
You are citizens
Working for us
In the cities
We set up!
Man up!
Head off to your jobs
Do not be late
Or you will be fired
Many more await
To fill your position
You are easily replaced!
Who do you think you are?
Oh! You have a car?
Well, it is not really yours
It is registered to the state
And we are the state
And you have to have a license
If you even want to drive
And that can be revoked
Any place any time.
Do not provoke us
Do not pretend
You have a say
Or we will send
You to jail
And impound your car
And we will always prevail.
The branches of government
Shoot from our tree
Its roots gripping deep
In our society
Legislative
Judicial
Executive
We make the laws
We judge your actions
We execute enforcement
In every single faction
Of your worthless lives
Pathetically struggling
To have your voices heard.
Have you no idea
Exactly how absurd
You sound to us?
A bunch of clashing cymbals
Making too much noise
We are tired of listening
To bad girls and boys
So we are going to ground you
But we will whip you first
We have ways of getting
Our voices heard
And our point across
You stand at a total loss!
The commander in chief
Of our armed forces
Yes, we have armed them
To the nth degree
And trained them all
To do our bidding
So you will all
Be overridden
In all you try to do.
You are through
Being who you thought you were.
You pledge allegiance
To our flag
Stand at attention
And beg
For what we may grant you
If it furthers our cause
Just to keep you going
So we do not take a loss
That would be unthinkable
To the likes of us
For we are the bread
And you are the crust
In god you trust.
What a bunch of fools
Mistaking us for Him
There are many gods
And we are in the game to win
All your souls
In our coffers
We are all
This world offers
And never forget
Who you may think you are
We will never let
You act on it!
So bow down and obey
Your government
Or you will not be safe
From yourself!
Who in the hell
Do you think you are?!

Come out of her, My people,
So that you shall not share
In her sins,
So that you will not receive
Any of her plagues;
For her sins are piled up to heaven
And God has remembered her crimes.
Give back to her as she has given;
Mix her a double portion
From her own cup,
Give her as much torture and grief
As the glory and luxury
She gave herself.
In her heart she boasts,
‘I sit as a queen; I am not a widow
And I will never mourn’.
Therefore, in one day her plagues
Will overtake her:
Death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,
For Mighty is the Lord God
Who judges her.
Revelation 18:4-8

Blessed are you, O Israel!
Who is like you,
A people saved by the Lord?
He is your shield and helper
And your glorious sword.
Your enemies will cower before you,
And I will trample down
Their high places.
Deuteronomy 33:29

But you are “a chosen race”,
A royal priesthood,
A holy nation,
A people for special possession,
That you should declare abroad
The excellencies of the One
That called you out of darkness
Into His wonderful Light.
For you were once not a people,
But are now God’s people:
You were those who had not
Been shown mercy,
But now those who have
Been shown mercy.
1Peter 2:9-10.

That is who we think we are!
I love the Bible,
It has an answer for everything!
