If you have been asking God, “How do I know that I really know You?” Listen to this.

I’m telling you, I’ve known that I know the Holy Spirit. I know that I do—the conviction, the correction, the comfort. But I was saying to Jesus, “Why does it feel like I don’t really know You? Why, when I read Your words, like in the Gospels, do I feel so condemned?”
And the revelation that led up to what I’m going to read to you absolutely shattered me, but it built more in me than almost anything ever has. So this is for you if you’ve been praying that.
“All your life, you have loved Me. I am the Lord your God. Your heart was Mine from the start, you see. But have you truly known what I want?
You cite the Scriptures. You know the words. But have you truly known what I want? You cite the Scriptures, you know the words, but do you truly know the truth that is so plain to see—the truth you claim to know?
I am the God that sees all things, the God that pierces hearts. I saw Satan fall like lightning, very close to where you are. Full of pride, he reasoned with Me. That day, his sin was birthed. As he sought glory for himself, I cast him down to earth.
And that very day, the vortex formed—the malignant disease of self. His heart decayed with his own ambitions, ambitions that you know well. And in the place that I designed for love, stones began to form, desiring only to reap and eat many things they hungered for. And an all-consuming, ravenous urge overtook his mind.
The vortex spins in one direction: toward the self, the selfish ‘I.’
Do you yourself know love? Better yet, do you know sacrifice?
You’re bolstered with so much knowledge, and for that, you’ve paid a price. Yet knowledge without the purpose for knowing can consume the light. I did not give you this wisdom to remain wisdom alone within your mind.
Yes, if it is not mixed with love, what purpose do you have to know?
You have not seen My heart, My child. You’re too consumed with your own soul. I see your pride, your own ambitions, the thoughts deep in your heart, how you think of yourself, your first mission, and how deeply you regard the things you want and say you need. Yet where is room for another?
Have you truly had no ears to hear when I called you to love your brothers? You say you do, but how great are your thoughts toward yourself? How often do you think of others separately from how they could be used as well?
I hear a voice in you rising up, coming to your defense. Self-righteousness is a disease to love, killing conviction as it spreads.
Humble yourself, lest I resist you.
I love you. Don’t you see? I want to form My image in you, but I first must remove this thing.
Have you not read My words? Remember the least of these. You say you know My heart, yet yours looks like a Pharisee’s.
Have you done this for the love of others? How many situations have you laid yourself down for the sake of your brothers? How often did you give your time, your coat, your ear, your things?
How often do you pray for yourself as if I don’t know what you need? How often do you pray for nations? Do you intercede on their behalf or for anybody else but you when they don’t have what you have?
Come close, My child. I love you beyond all words, and I only correct those that I love, that they choose to finally turn—turn to Me and know My heart. Repent and change your mind.
My words can only make sense when mixed with the love I put inside them. Read, My child, with the lens of love—agape. This is so much of My mission.
If a man desires to be first, you will find My heart is not within him. How much did I appeal to men that they must love each other? Think of every parable and have ears to hear.
Come here, uncover, and ask Me to help you with this.
I will replace your heart of stone, but first I must break it apart so that the tender parts may grow. And I’ll twist the vortex inside of you that turns you toward yourself and reverse it, as I intended it, outward toward love for others.
Well, all your life you have loved Me with all your soul and mind, but I’ve waited for your heart too, you see, so I could make it just like Mine.
Bring it near and close to Me.
Great things in you will form so that you may bless My other children—the thing I formed you for.
It’s My nature to give and, yes, to lay down My own life. And in order to make you just like Me, you too must sacrifice.
But do not fear. I have you in mind and always in My heart, and what you give will be supplied. I am with you where you are, and My well never runs dry.
So ask Me for a drink and watch as I pour out My love beyond what you could think—so much so that yours, too, will pour, just as I intended, to bring My Kingdom to this earth.
This love is forever unending.”
