The Umbrella Bridge: Interpretation

Today during my morning prayer time I felt prompted to share my thoughts. Perhaps you could forward those to her if you like.

Dear Lisa B.,
Thank you for sharing your dream. I always marvel how the Lord provides so many people, Christians and non-Christians alike, with dreams that are prophetic, very realistic, and infused with all sorts of hidden messages.
As I read your dream a few things came to my mind. I am no dream interpreter, and I am not worthy to be called a Christian either, but I felt prompted this morning to share my thoughts and observations. Perhaps the Lord will use some of this information for His purposes.
The people on the wide flat stone bridge
The stone is the same as the rock. They are on the broad road that leads to destruction, but Jesus has not given up on them. He is still holding them. He is the stone.
The second empty, and narrow bridge, also made out of stone
This is indeed the narrow path, and only few walk on it. Once I had a dream like that too. A narrow path along a cliff of rock. Just a couple of people on it wearing blue shorts and red shirts, walking in the same direction along that path, very few indeed.
The task to cross the steep narrow bridge
This is our task indeed, for all of us, for that is the way that leads to salvation.
The walk of ten steps
Ten is God’s number of completion. As it is today, He works on us on individual specific aspects of our heart, and when one aspect is dealt with (ten steps are completed) then comes the next higher step.
Your mum and sister + brother in law
They are with you because you have been called to influence them and lead them to walk on the narrow road. You are leading them to salvation by ministering to them, praying to them, etc.
The umbrella saying “this is in your way”
Satan tries to trip and trap us. He is doing all he can to prevent us from moving forward on this path. The first couple of umbrellas were easy to walk by, and only a sign that things would get harder the more you proceed on this path.
Umbrella = used by people to prevent the rain from getting to them so they can stay dry
Rain = Water = Holy Spirit
Umbrellas are emotional or spiritual aspects that keep the Holy Spirit from getting to us, including toxic emotions like anger, bitterness, strife, envy, jealousy, fear, hatred, lust and all sins of all kind.
The fact that they have no handles means you cannot simply push them away. You have little control over them, since you are not wrestling against flesh and blood.
These emotions and sins come as the enemy tempts us and we face difficult and painful circumstances. The Lord may allow these things to happen to refine us, and also because He has called us to overcome.
Black and grey umbrellas
Black and grey are colors of unrighteousness, evil, darkness and sin. Every open umbrella is a temptation to sin against the Lord that is now fully open, because of things that we face on earth.
The top of the bridge – thousands of umbrellas – anger and rage
The coming season of judgments, or the time of sorrows, will bring so much destruction and human casualties and deceptions, that emotions of fear, anger, frustrations, despair, rage, why God?, etc. will abound. It will be much harder to stand for Christ and stay on the narrow path in those days, and the Lord has warned us plenty, I think, that this will not be easy. Even for those close to the Lord it may feel just overwhelming in those days.
Heavy umbrellas
It is not easy, it is hard to deal with those sins and emotions.
Yellow umbrellas
The main thing that comes to my mind about the yellow umbrellas is this scripture:
Leviticus 13:30 The priest is to examine the sore, and if it appears to be more than skin deep and the hair in it is yellow and thin, the priest shall pronounce them unclean; it is a defiling skin disease on the head or chin.
The yellow umbrellas could point to emotional struggles coming from the plagues that will cause sores, but I am not sure. Maybe 4 umbrellas mean 4 plagues that we’ll face.
Make a path forward on my own.
That is exactly the temptation we will face, to fight things on our own. I believe all Christians will end up doing that at least for a while, until they really wake up and realize they cannot succeed that way.
In many ways the Lord has prompted us already to lean on him, look on him and obey him. That this will be the only way to “survive” what is coming.
Throwing umbrellas over the bridge – the people below
The people below are “standing” on the rock, but they are not moving. They are not walking into perdition. This is what I believe these people represent:
Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
The valley is below, and the bridge they were standing on was below as well.
In other words, those are the people that we are supposed to harvest, the great harvest of souls.
Luke 10:2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
Message here: if we allow the enemy to hold us back with all that is coming against us, it will have implications on the souls of the great harvest. I believe this is the heart of this dream.
I dropped them next to me and took my mum’s hand, it was surprisingly easier, with less obstacles.
You stopped trying to fight the enemy in the flesh, and focused on those who need your help. Automatically, the Lord took care of the traps of the enemy making the walk easier.
Deuteronomy 28:7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
I looked back to check on sister and brother-in-law, who were no-where to be seen
You are right, they did not make it through. I think this may be a prompt to pray for them more intensely.
My mum then placed her hands on my shoulders and said it was time for her to return home.
This probably means the Lord will take her home soon to spare her from the evil that is coming.
Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.
The fact she made it to the other side of the bridge could be a message to you that she is headed to heaven.
My 10 year old daughter, and my daughter’s hair had gone grey.
She appeared suddenly; she did not have to walk on the bridge. That is because children are still below the age of accountability, and they don’t need to walk through that narrow road. Their path to heaven is automatic.
The grey hair on her is a very beautiful sign. It means that even though she is just 10, in the eyes of the Lord, she is probably being seen not only as a child that will be raptured for her young age, but even more so, a righteous child. I think many mothers and dads in this world would be jealous to have such a child.
Proverbs 16:31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.
We looked at each other and we both knew that we were saying good-bye.
This probably means the Lord is showing you that your daughter will also go home early to be spared from the evil.
Her understanding of what and why things are happening is also a sign of understanding what the Lord is doing, and trusting him.
So why are you not going?
Probably because the Lord has a calling on your life for the end times. Maybe you are a harvester of souls, part of the remnant, or you have another task like running a safe heaven. Only the Lord can answer that question. Your dream does not say anything about your future role.
End of Dream – I woke up crying.
Understandable. I would probably be doing the same.
Remember Psalm 91 is God’s Umbrella of Protection.
I feel this strongly. If the Lord does not protect us we have no chance of survival because of the great amount of evil things that are coming against us. He spoke to me about the “end time anointing” that He will place on His Own that will produce a spiritual Goshen, for their protection.
Again, I am no dream interpreter and I am not worthy to be called a Christian, but your dream I feel is a message for all harvest workers, warrior brides and remnant soldiers, because that journey over that bridge with those challenges, that is the only path we ALL must walk on in the soon coming days.
