Dear brothers and sisters,

on Sept.2/2022, the Holy Spirit took me through an amazing trail pertaining to the 4 creatures in Ezekiel 1, and 10. I had read these chapters many times before. But every time the Holy Spirit led me to them, I would sigh and tell myself I didn’t understand who these creatures were, nor what they represented. I read these chapters plainly and always thought they were actual creatures with 4 different side heads. Hard to visualize, especially for me -I am not very creative. Neverthless, I thought they must be breathtaking to look at, because in Genesis I read that Father looked at His creation and it was good. Amen!?

I read the first few verses in Ezekiel 1 plainly as always, but when I got to verse 9, the Holy Spirit began opening my understanding.

9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

As I pondered on these creatures’ movements, I envisioned them moving in the forward direction, not to the left, not to the right, not looking back. I thought to myself, that is odd. Why would Father create these creatures with this strange way of walking?! And as I thought that, it came to me that the verse was not to be taken literally. It meant that their spiritual eyes are fixed on Father’s instructions and laws. That they are so focused on Him that they will not veer to the right nor to the left.

Joshua 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

Prov.4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Gen.19:17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Eager to learn more, I continued to read:

10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.

These creatures each had one head with 4 faces, one on each of their sides. Once again, the Holy Spirit brought clarity by advising that these creatures do not literally each have four faces, but rather that those looking at them perceive them in various ways. For example, to some they will appear ‘as a man’ meaning like ordinary people. To others, they will appear ‘as a lion’ – fierce and bold, perhaps even like an enemy or a threat from which they would want to defend themselves. Others would perceive them ‘as an ox’ – docile, hardworking, determined, strong servants who diligently plow Father’s fields. To others yet, ‘as eagles’, meaning judgmental as they share Father’s Laws, doctrines, warnings and commands in an unswerving manner.

1 Chron.12:8 And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains.

Isa.5:29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.

Jer.49:22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

Deut.25:4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.

This particular verse (Ezekiel 1:10) also refers to the 4-fold facets of Yeshua. For instance, the MAN refers to the portion of His life where He dwelled on the earth as a human being. The OX, being that it was one of the most popular animals used for sacrifices, represents Yeshua becoming an offering for us. The EAGLE depicts His character as our Judge. The LION, His rulership as our King, the Lion from the Tribe of Judah.

11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

The wings joined one to another signify that they function in unity with each other; that they minister shoulder to shoulder. The act of covering themselves with the wings is a reference to Father’s protection as we read:

Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.

Psa.91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Zeph.3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent.

John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.

These creatures are led solely by the Holy Spirit. They do not respond to any other command. Hallelujah!!

13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning. 14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

The ‘burning coals appearance’ symbolizes these creatures having gone through the fires of afflictions -Yah’s refiner’s fire- and have not burned up. But just like gold, they’re now refined and blazing displaying Father’s holiness and purity. Their lives are living testimonies of the perseverance, character and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The reference to ‘a flash of lightening’ seems to allude that these creatures move at supernatural speeds.

This “lightning” further reminded me of 2 passages: the woman with the issue of blood and Peter’s shadow healing people. Perhaps these creatures will in similar manner shed power.

Luk.8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. 16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the colour of a beryl and I discovered that it comes in a variety of colours such as emerald (green), heliodor (yellow), bixbite (red), aquamarine (light blue), maxixe (dark or navy blue), morganite (pink), goshenite (white) and trapiche emerald (another shade of green). Now about ‘the ‘wheels’, what I’ve understood is that they represent the creature’s followers or disciples: both those who will assist them in bringing in Father’s harvest and those who will be saved as a consequence of their ministry.

When I inquired of the Holy Spirit regarding the ‘wheel in the middle of a wheel’, the impression that came into my Spirit was “a gear”. That made sense to me as a gear is a device used to cause a mechanism to move, turn, operate or function. I can see how this essential body of believers will be indispensable to assist the creatures in their missions.

I set this Word aside for some time, as the revelation about these wheels was not entirely clear to me. But after a long break, coming back to it, I came across 1 Kin.7:27-33 where I discovered an important key that helps piece it all together. That is the 10 movable stands in the Temple, which were built on wheels and had lions, oxens and cherubims displayed on their panels. These stands were used by the priests for washing.

Let me paint the scenario for you. The creatures are the 144,000 chosen ones by Yah for particular End Times tasks, one of them being to go throughout the earth and reap His Harvest. They will have to move according to the leading of the Holy Spirit to those individuals Yah knows will accept Yeshua as their Saviour and whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Once they confess Yeshua and repent from their evildoings, they will be led to Safe Havens where this body of believers, or “wheels”, will guide them in deepening their roots into the Word, teach them Yah’s undefiled doctrines, and help them grow spiritually. In other words, to tie it back to 1 Kin.7, the “wheels'” will ‘wash’ with the Word these new converts.

17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. 18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.

These ‘wheels’ move in the same manner as the creatures. Meaning that their eyes are fastened in the same direction as the creatures which is in the direction of the Holy Spirit. The ‘eyes’ mean Yah’s constant presence over them.

Zec.8:23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

Isa.30:20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers.

2 Chron.16:9a) For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

The creatures’ disciples are devoted to them and since the same Holy Spirit indwells them, they follow their leaders like shadows. The piece highlighted in verse 19 is very interesting. It means that when the 144,000 will be taken up to heaven, so will they (the wheels). That goes with Matt.24:30-31 where it says that after the distress OF THOSE DAYS, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light (which seems to reference the 3 days of darkness). Following that, the people of the earth will be given the sign of Jonah. Just like Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of the fish, and just like Yeshua spent 3 days and 3 nights in the grave, the 144,000 will also spend 3 days and 3 nights dead before their resurrection. At that time, Yeshua will appear with His angels to collect His elect from the ends of the earth (the church) to the ends of the heavens (the 144,000).

Now, going back to the beginning of the chapter to try to gain more insight on what I missed the first time around.

4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

I sat there on my sofa, pondering what could this image look like. And as I did so, the Holy Spirit began to draw in my mind the picture of a nuclear explosion. The whirlwind, or storm, initiating from the country of the North (meaning Russia). The cloud (or mushroom cloud) with fire and a brightness about it, in amber colour …a nuclear explosion.

5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. 6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.

Out of this explosion came the creatures which have the ‘appearance’ of a man. Does this mean that there is a possibility that they may not actually be ‘creatures’ but people with defined characteristics? This is where it gave it away to them being the 144,000 which perfectly fit the rest of the description given in the verses we’ve already looked at.

7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.

The ‘calf’s foot’ reference is related to:

Mal. 4:2-3 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.

8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
Another piece of evidence that confirms the creatures being human.

To finish off, it would be worthwhile to check out the Scriptures in Ezekiel 10 to compare to Ezekiel 1. At first, the one obvious difference in Ezek.10, is that one of the sides of the creatures’ faces is a cherub instead of the ox. One may think that perhaps this may be an entirely new set of creatures. But verses 8, 15 and 22 beg to differ. In fact, Ezekiel confirms that both sets of creatures were the same. Here are the supporting verses:

Ezek.10:8 And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man’s hand under their wings.

Ezek.10:15 And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar.

Ezek.10:22 And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.

It’s interesting to take notice, nonethless, how the ox face in chapter 1 is replaced by a cherub in chapter 10. A transformation!? Mmmhhhh……..

Ezek.10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your revelations. None of me and all of you. May we continue to dwell in our Secret Places to gain even more insights into End Times prophecies and events. We give you, Abba, all the glory, now and forevermore! Amen!!
