More Details
The City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management, in conjunction with the Majestic Theater, Dallas Fire Rescue, Dallas Police Department and area hospitals, would like to invite you to participate in our Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Full Scale Exercise. Volunteers can be any age, 0 – 100, but must sign a Hold Harmless Waiver (will be provided the day of the exercise).
Where:
Majestic Theater: 1925 Elm St. Dallas (enter through front door)
Participating hospitals:
Methodist Dallas: 1441 N Beckley Ave, Parkland: 5200 Harry Hines Blvd, Baylor: 4005 Crutcher St, Texas Health Presbyterian: 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Children’s: 1935 Medical District Dr
Do not report to these hospitals on your own – please go directly to the Majestic Theater for your assignment
When:
Exercise will take place on Sunday, March 18th 8:00am – 12:00pm (actual volunteer reporting time and assignment ending time will vary depending on your role).
What we are testing:
Patient tracking capabilities from a disaster scene to the hospital.
Why you should be involved:
First of all, it is fun! How often do you get to play with fake blood and first responders, at one of the most beautiful historic buildings in Dallas? If this isn’t justification enough, this exercise can be used as community service hours, merit badges for youth scouts, and exercise credit for preparedness and CMS requirements.
Exercise Scenario:
During a large performance, the stage at the Majestic Theater collapses, severely injuring those that were on the stage. The Majestic Theater staff will begin evacuating attendees as first responders arrive and triage injured patients. Injured patients are then transported to one of five pre-designated area hospitals; where they will be triaged, admitted and discharged.
