THE STORM

In June this year I had a dream. The setting was a desert. I was in a 4×4 with another person, and he/she was driving. Eventually we came to a single-story building, about as big as a single garage in the middle of the desert. The building had a shelter on the one side, about as big as the building itself. I was going to this place in order to do some research on a certain small animal that live there. In real life I work in the legal profession. When we got to our destination the other person showed me an example of the small animal and left. I was alone at the building. Suddenly a tempest erupted. It started so suddenly, that I did not have time to flee into the building, the only thing I could do was to grab hold of a small round table, cemented to the floor. I held on for dear life. I could not even look up, but just held my head down and held as fast as I could. In the meantime, a massive storm was raging around me. The was a tremendous wind blowing and rain falling. After some time, the storm subsided, and I looked up. The sand around the building was blown way or washed away, about as deep as the height of the building itself. There was devastation all around.

I was shaken but unharmed.

This reminded me of the scripture

Matthew 7 :24-27 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
