The Prayer Closet – Rachel Adamus

The Prayer Closet – Rachel Adamus

I was in prayer, and the Lord spoke to my heart to write. (I want to clarify that when I say that God spoke to my heart or that I “heard” a word or interpretation, that I am simply documenting what came to my mind as I was in prayer, and in faith, am trusting and hopeful, based on the calling I believe Abba has given to me, that these thoughts are from Him. The words recorded here in this blog are simply a documenting of those thoughts that I “hear” in my spirit, and they must always point to Scripture, to the glory of Christ, and the truth we have in the Word. If they ever in any way contradict that truth or the principles of Scripture or the fruit of the Spirit, they must be considered false.)

My daughter, I have loved you with an everlasting love, and I have loved all of my chosen bride with an everlasting love–with unshakable love! Nothing in all creation, in heaven or under the earth, can snatch you out of my hand (John 10:28) and bring to naught what I have planned for you, for you are the apple of my eye, my harvest workers, my helpers, my friends, my confidants, my everlasting loves. Lord, why? You don’t need anyone, so why? Because I AM love, my daughter. I want to share my love, diffuse my love into you, and give you myself, that you may also give yourselves to me. I want to be one with you, even as we–the Father and I–are one. I want you all to be one with us (John 17:11, 22). You will sit with me on my throne, even as I have sat down on my Father’s throne (Revelation 3:21). You will rule the nations with a rod of iron (Revelation 2:26-27). Oh my daughter, I would have you tell my people that they are deceived in so many things because they do not go to their prayer closets and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways! It is my Holy Spirit that gives light to the eyes and opens your hearts to the truths of my Word. Trust me, my daughter. Trust me to guide you into all truth (John 16:13, Psalm 25:5). Trust me to be your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Trust me and not the mistaken wisdom of man. I am your God and there is no other; I am your God and there is none like me (Isaiah 45:5). Do you think me weak, oh people of God, that you would not cast your whole being upon me? Do you think me incapable of infusing you with my Spirit and wisdom, that you have to seek counsels and creeds and confessions to know my Word? I have indeed delivered unto you my teachers who help you to know my way, yet to depend upon them for all your knowledge and wisdom is to cut yourself off from me–the Vine. Your ultimate source of power and hope is in me! To me first you should go and not your fallible teachers. To me first you must run, and that requires time in your prayer closets! Who among you gives me even five minutes each day of devoted time? Do you even feel your need for me? Are you so overwhelmed with your intense schedules that you cannot take time for me? Why am I not the first place in your lives, the center of your devotion? Why do you not give to me the first fruits of your labor, time, and energy? Do you think that you can cut off my life-giving water without growing thirsty? Do you think you can cease eating of me without shriveling up from starvation? I am the true bread of life and the water of life (John 6:35). No one who abides in me will lack any good thing! (Psalm 34:10) Oh children! How long must I bear with you? I am weary of your dissertations about me and Christianity that have been produced by carnal minds. I am weary of your works that have not dipped into the Vine for power and approval. I am weary of your personal vendettas. Do you think you are led by the Spirit just because you prayed a prayer and got baptized in water? You are led by the Spirit when you obey my Word and follow His commands of you. But are you even listening? If you are not listening, my children, how then can you be led by Him? I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice, let him open the door and I will come in to him and sup with him (Revelation 3:20). Oh…my people. (I hear weeping! ) I have loved you with an everlasting love! Why will you die, my people? Why will you suffer judgment. I will come to you, and you will not know the day nor the hour! You will be caught off guard and you will be greatly chastised! Yet I discipline those I love! (Revelation 3:19) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God! (Hebrews 10:31) Repent, therefore, my people! Return to me with your whole heart. Destroy the way of iniquity. Wholeheartedly give yourselves to me. Cut off the television, the computer, the phone, and all your devices that are keeping you from me! Cut off all the activities–even the good ones–that are keeping you from me! Fast and weep and rend your hearts, and not your garments–I am weary of your outward show! (Joel 2:13) Be cleansed, oh my people, before I must cleanse you myself! I will not stand for a polluted temple! I will drive out all the money changers from my midst, thus says the LORD. Lord, who in your church are the money changers? Those who do not have clean hearts before me and who are living their Christian lives like a market. They are thinking of me in carnal terms rather than Spirit-filled terms. They are advocating their own way rather than mine. They are buying and selling their wares in my house–using my people for usury. Lord, I don’t understand that; how are people used for usury? (My daughter, my people have taken upon the burden of guilt that ought not to be. They are given the idea that if they don’t work themselves to death, they are not pleasing to me. But this in itself is carnal-minded. My yoke is easy and my burden is light! [Matthew 11:30] Those led by my Spirit do not have to try to figure out in their own minds how much they are to do for me, what they are to do, or how much is enough. They have worked themselves into a frenzy. My shepherds have laid a burden on them that they dare not lift themselves! [Matthew 23:4] They use the people, as usury is enacted against those in debt. They keep my people feeling indebted. This ought not to be!) My people–my body–are not for carnal gain and indulgence, for improving the lining of your pockets, and for conveniently exploiting your brothers and sisters for physical gain. My church is meant to be my royal army–sent on a mission to gather souls into the Kingdom! But instead, they gather earthly treasures. Return to the call I gave Peter. Leave your nets, and I will make you fishers of men. Leave all your own self-indulgence; leave all the ideas you have of how to do Christianity. Cast them all at my feet and weep. Empty yourselves. Listen for my Spirit. Be guided by my voice through my Word. Rejoice in all that I am about to give you and do for you and through you. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving
