The Gathering: A Call to Solemn Assembly

Dear Friends, Neighbors & Fellow Citizens
My name is Averine Pennington. In April of 2019, I had a supernatural experience from the Lord that produced a spiritual awakening which changed my life forever. I hope to share my entire testimony with you soon but to do so now would place the focus on me and not on what God has asked me to accomplish for HIS purposes.
Just briefly, I will share that I have been a Christian since I was six years old. I am now 70 years old. That’s practically a lifetime of loving my Lord with all my heart and serving Him. Until recently I thought my Christian walk was just fine. I confess, I didn’t know I was asleep (practically in a coma) until God woke me up, literally!
JESUS is COMING SOON! VERY SOON! Time, as we know it now, is so short. “The harvest is truly great, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest” (Luke 10:2, KJV). The Lord has called me to be a laborer in His harvest field, searching out his lost sheep and awakening HIS PEOPLE to the nearness of His coming – to sound the alarm to GET READY – BE VIGILANT – BE WATCHFUL – trim your lamps and have plenty of oil (Matthew 25).
I have always known there is power in prayer, but I don’t think I realized how much POWER until I was called to be a Prayer Warrior. Today, in my prayer time, I was crying out to the Lord about what I could do to reach people for Him. Almost immediately, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit with these words:
“Gather the People – Call a Solemn Assembly”
I was just about in shock at that response. For a moment, I questioned whether that was something I thought of myself and maybe it wasn’t from God. The more I pondered those words, I knew that could not be the case. The message had to be from God! I was not even sure I knew what a Solemn Assembly was. I vaguely remembered something like that mentioned in the Old Testament with Moses and the Israelites. I had to do some research. Then, this afternoon, while driving to an errand, the Holy Spirit added an addendum, “until Shiloh comes.” Wow, what does that mean? Is that even in the Bible?
Folks, under the direction of God’s Holy Spirit I believe I am to step boldly forward and be the spark that gets a fire going! God is calling for a grassroots movement – people from across our nation gathering for the express purpose of prayer and repentance. In the OT, a Solemn Assembly was a call issued by God to the nation of Israel to renew their covenant with Him. God’s judgments are coming to America! As citizens of this nation, it is our responsibility to pray for our country – to fall on our knees and ask, yes even beg, God for His mercy. Are any of you reading the headlines? Scripture is being fulfilled in real time before our eyes! (Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 21) Our blessed hope is in Christ alone! Man cannot control the storms, man cannot calm the seas, man cannot stop a plague or pestilence in its tracks (Matt. 8:27, II Samuel 24:25). We are now and always have been at the mercy of the great I AM! We have much to pray for! Will you join me in this great endeavor?
I have no agenda except to be obedient to My Lord. I am now issuing a call to all Americans from sea to shining sea, to come before the Lord our Maker for a SOLEMN ASSEMBLY! I will invite as many as will come from my neighborhood to meet at my home at an appointed day and time. This is not a party! No refreshments will be served except perhaps bottled water. It is a solemn gathering. There will be no planned program – this is a time to meet with God – IT IS HIS TIME! He is the One who has called this meeting and I fully expect Him to show up in a mighty and powerful way!
My hope is that this local Solemn Assembly is only the beginning. May it be duplicated and multiplied exponentially in every neighborhood, in every town and city, in every state and territory across our nation. It doesn’t matter how small or large the gathering. I believe God will honor the fact that the people of America are willing to humble themselves before the Living God (II Chron. 7:14). If a funny cat video on YouTube can go viral, why can’t this call from God to gather for prayer go viral also? Tell everyone you know, wherever they live – in the city, in the country – in an apartment complex, in a trailer park, in a penthouse. It doesn’t matter! Get the word out that a Solemn Assembly has been called by God Almighty! I am convinced that what God is asking His people to do will have eternal significance for our country and may very well save thousands, if not millions of lives. I am reminded that Abraham asked the Lord to spare Sodom and Gomorrah and not even ten righteous could be found to save them from destruction. Please, people of God, heed this call! He may not ask a second time!
In closing, I wanted to mention the addendum ‘until Shiloh comes’. This phrase, found in Genesis 49:10, pertains to when Jacob (Israel) was giving the blessing to his sons just prior to his death. It is included in the blessing for his son, Judah, and is believed to refer to the Messiah coming from the tribe of Judah. I don’t know exactly how this relates to the calling of a Solemn Assembly, but later in the book of Joshua, Shiloh was the place of the tabernacle where the Ark of the Covenant resided (God’s presence among men). Vs. 10 mentions the word scepter (signifying kingship). Further research is needed, but for now my own interpretation of the phrase is that we are to continue interceding for America until Jesus comes as King of kings and Lord of lords. (James 5:16) Even so, come Lord Jesus! (Rev. 22:20b)
It would be a blessing to know if others plan to gather for a Solemn Assembly. I have a large map of the USA and will place markers on it where each Solemn Assembly is taking place. May our ‘light shining for Him’ be seen from space, but more importantly, may our light lead others to Christ and may our prayers make a difference! May this call to NATIONAL REPENTANCE spread even faster than the corona virus!

PS. Our local Solemn Assembly will be held on April 4th, 4:00pm at my home (that’s 4/04/@4). I am praying for beautiful weather so we can set up a tent in our field. You may want to bring your own blanket or towel to sit on the grass or bring your lawn chair. Trusting God for the whole neighborhood to show up! For those fearful of gathering in a crowd, join with your family in your own home at that date and time (For where 2 or 3 come together in My name, there am I with them. Matt. 18:20)! May this little spark ignite a flame that will keep burning across our nation ‘until Shiloh comes.’
