The Blood of Jesus is a Mighty Weapon!

Recently I encountered Jesus through the power of His precious blood.

On the evening of 4.8.21 I had a battle with an adversary, a family member – but in truth I was battling the only adversary we face – the devil. According to 1 Peter 5:8…

‘Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.’

I hadn’t laid down my sword but had engaged in battle with the enemy and was defeated. According to Ephesians 6:12…

‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.’

In the aftermath I found I couldn’t sleep. There was an overwhelming sense of guilt and shame that I could not shake. According to Ezra 9:6…

And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.’

Then the thought came to me ‘the blood of Jesus’. I couldn’t speak but in my heart I plead the blood of Jesus over myself. I had a knowing somehow that only the blood of Jesus could wash away the shame and guilt that covered me. According to 1 John 1:7…

‘But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.’

For the first time I began to feel relief as the guilt and shame faded away and I was finally able to get some much needed rest. According to Colossians 1:13-14…

’13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.’

The next morning was uneventful but something amazing happened that evening, miraculous almost – my lifelong adversary came back to ask for my forgiveness. According to Ephesians 1:7…
‘In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.’

I like many believers, plead the blood of Jesus over family and friends in need of healing and protection. During this Passover too I covered my door, windows and possessions with His blood. But I have never experienced before the resurrection power of the precious blood of Jesus as I did that night. I’m here to testify of the saving power of the blood of Jesus that broke the chains of bondage that held me captive and transferred me from the kingdom of darkness into His heavenly kingdom of light. The blood of Jesus is a mighty weapon given to the body of Christ to defeat the enemy once and for all. To Jesus Christ our Savior – who is the same yesterday, today and forever!
