Testimony
In the last several weeks I have felt I need to do much more than what I’m currently doing to spread the gospel. Some time ago I used to visit orphanages weekly with Bible classes. I used to teach in church. All that has changed. I still do this at home with my sons and try to witness as much as possible with people I encounter. We cherish our family devotionals and have seen the hand of God moving miraculously in our lives. However, given the lockdowns, I feel I can’t engage in outreach. I was asking the Lord about what I should do. I know young people are going through a tough time. I worry most of them are receiving what does not help them through their phones and media. It burdens me to think there are limitations to spreading God’s word due to lack of meeting opportunities, but the evil one has one on one easy access to keep hurting our young ones at the reach of their fingers.
I then thought, maybe I could do our family Bible studies on zoom and invite other young people to join us. On the other hand, I don’t want to embark on something that is not led by the Lord and it felt like just a decent idea in order to do “something” to reach young people with the Word of God in these hard times. I asked the Lord to please direct me on this.
Then, a couple of days later, on November 30, 2020 I had this dream.
Please brethren, never cease to look for God’s direction when considering any visions, dreams, and words. Be diligent in prayer and only trust in HIM. If the Holy Spirit does not confirm you any of them, don’t accept them.
Dream
In this dream I am in an open field behind a small fence and see a big brown bear right in the center of the field. He’s very big, healthy, and strong. He’s coming towards me slowly and I’m scared to move. To my left a moose appears and the bear is distracted by it. The moose is quickly gone and the bear comes back to walking towards me. To the left again, a black panther appears. Very menacing looking and the bear picks up his pace and jumps past me on my left side almost touching my arm. I see it really close to me and gasped, but it just took off. I was shocked by the bear, but more nervous and frightened by the showing up of the black panther.
I am immediately at another scene in a college campus where I see that the campus’ swimming pool is dry and is being filled up with dirt in order to grow food for a ‘period of time’. I see campus personnel rearranging and redistributing areas to grow food on the ground.
There is a student that has been looking for me for a long time in order to have our agreed upon daily devotional which I kept forgetting and not attending. She’s frustrated and mad at me because apparently she has reminded me continuously that we are to hold these devotionals and I keep forgetting. She comes to me crying because her time to apply for some kind of internship for which these meetings were a requirement is almost up. (Here I am shown a date that I will not share for I don’t want to distract people with giving a date and maybe create confusion. But it was a specific date with day and month. Keep in mind this was not a vision or a Word, but a dream. And this one has many symbolic aspects).
I try to excuse myself not feeling this is much of an issue, at least not as heartfelt for me as it appeared to be for her, and tell her that I keep forgetting because I already have 3 to 4 devotionals a day by myself. She leaves and later I see and overhear her talking to another person. She told this friend of hers about me not showing up and not complying with the agreement. She spoke about how she should have not chosen me for that, but that it was already too late to choose another person. I finally got to see and understand her predicament and felt very sorry and ashamed for not being there for her and for jeopardizing her chances of getting the internship. I remembered she had shown me and others a booklet with beautiful pictures of this place she wanted to be in. She had arranged an album with those as if it was a very special thing for her.
I decide to quickly go and look for her. As I do that I feel how it would have been great to have done my personal daily devotions with her during the previous weeks. I finally find her, but before I reach her a black panther, who has been watching from afar, comes very close to me and walks slowly around me. I froze on the spot in order not to be attacked. It wanted to intimidate me, but then left. I finally got to her . I decided we would do a 2 or 3 day retreat in order to complete the 15 hours she needed in the shortest amount of time. I was happy we still had a chance to do it although in much less time.
My interpretation:
– This was an immediate confirmation that I was to hold our family devotions as zoom meetings open to young people we know. Of course I should expect opposition from the enemy. But the Lord will take care of everything.
– I understood there is a limited period of time for me to do this and that we are running out of time to reach people that need/want to be reached with the gospel; and moreso, that have been invited to do so by the Lord
– I believe the bear, pools, and campus areas needed to be repurposed for food signals for a specific period of time. I won’t go further into that because more details have not been revealed to me directly
– black panther meant the evil one and his forces in my dream; he’ll try to stop us and intimidate us … trust in the Lord!
And the most beautiful thing is that the theme the Lord put on my heart to speak to these young people was: All I need to know about the blood of Jesus.
All honor, and glory, and majesty to HIM for ever and ever. Hallelujah!
RELEVANT SCRIPTURE
ACTS 8:26-40
Christ Is Preached to an Ethiopian
26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is [e]desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”
30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this:
“He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away,
And who will declare His generation?
For His life is taken from the earth.”
34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”
37 [f]Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”
And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.
