Suiting up for Battle: From Holy Spirit and LynL

Daily suiting up in the armor of God, a Christian should be truthful, righteous, have peace of mind, have faith in Jesus’s protection from the work he did on the cross, to save us and bring us to Salvation.

Belt of Truth-Truth refers to honesty, faithfulness, and integrity. It means something is true, and other things are lies. Jesus is the truth that sets us free. Satan is the father of lies. (John 8:44)

Breastplate of righteousness– Righteousness refers to right action or conduct. We live holy lives, “and do not give the devil a foothold.” The enemy tempts us with all kinds of sinful temptations, but righteousness protects our hearts. (Ephesians 4:27)

Gospel of the Shoes of Peace-The believer’s readiness or preparedness for combat. When we carry anxiousness, worry and fear with us, we are robbed of peace. But the gospel of peace (peace of mind) keeps our feet anchored and standing firm. It is the difference between worldly wisdom and godly wisdom. (James 3:18)

Shield of faith. -Faith is complete reliance upon and trust in God. Faith also means not to be fearful. Psalm 56:3. “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Choosing faith is choosing to trust God no matter what may occur. The shield of faith needs to be soaked in God’s word to be fully operable – because faith comes by knowing (hearing and reading) the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Helmet of Salvation– Salvation comes the moment we place our trust in Jesus’ death and resurrection for the payment of our sins. The battlefield, of our mind, is the primary place spiritual battle and thoughts are fought. The Lord gives us his liberating truths, while the enemy fights to keep us ensnared thru sin. Do not conform to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, changing our thoughts to God’s thoughts, not conforming to this world. (Romans 12:2)

Sword of the Spirit– It is the words that you speak for protection, healing, deliverance and anything you wish to accomplish thru God, that is the Sword of the Spirit. For God is the Word. And it is the only piece of armor that is both defensive and offensive. Knowing the Bible and Gods words are your artillery. Your arsenal is the Words you remember and repeat. (Hebrews 4:12)

Armor of God: Ephesians 6:11-18 (KJV)

11 Put on the whole Armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand **in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Recap:
**Able to withstand in the evil day (evil has always been but will become more prevalent going forward-for that day is now here!)

1. Belt of Truth around your waist
2. Breastplate of Righteousness
3. Gospel of Peace
4. Shield of Faith
5. Helmet of Salvation
6. Sword of the Spirit- Words
7. Cover Yourself in the Blood of Jesus
8. Put a Hedge of protection around you
9. Rebuke all evil to be as far from you, as the East is from the West!
10. No weapon formed against me will prosper

How To Put on the Armor of God:

Praying this prayer is proactive against the devil’s schemes. It protects you with the blood of Jesus. Using this prayer daily will keep your enemy under control. Keep your garment (body) clean (be truthful, righteous, faith filled, peaceful, forgiving, loving, knowing the word, Child of God and being thankful for your salvation).

I verbally put on the armor every day. I say out loud:

I put on my belt of truth, my breastplate of righteousness, I shod my feet with the gospel of peace, my words are sharper than any two-edged sword, I put on my shield of faith, which will stop all the fiery darts that the enemy might want to put my way. But no weapon formed against me, my family, my friends or pets will prosper. I am covered in the blood of Jesus with a hedge of protection around me and my family at all times. I cover my car, my dwelling, my possessions and me and my family’s health in the blood of Jesus. Loosen the angels and make sure we are safe at all times, watch over our finances, pets and possessions and cancel all assignments of the enemy in Jesus’s name. I rebuke all evil away from us, as far as the East is from the West.

(Print this prayer out and use it daily, and eventually have it memorized)
