Sounding The Alarm! – Rich Fyke

"Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life" (I Timothy 6:19).

I want to combine several messages that The Lord has given to me recently into one concise message.

On September 30th, after seeking The Lord for 3 1/2 hours for what He would have me to share, The Lord said, weighed in the balance and found wanting. We know where this is found in Scripture. It is found in the Book of Daniel Chapter 5. King Belshazzar was being told by The Lord through the prophet Daniel that his kingdom was finished. God’s hand appeared upon the wall proclaiming, “………………………. Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin. This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians” (Daniel 5: 25-28). Why was Belshazzar being told this by The Lord? “But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:” (Daniel 5: 23).

Belshazzar had lifted up himself against The Lord. He had not humbled himself or glorified The Lord of Heaven, and now his day of reckoning had come. He was found weighed in the balance and found wanting, and now his kingdom — and life for that matter — was over. That same night, Belshazzar’s life was taken. His kingdom — even his life — was over.

This nation and world are in a similar state. It has not humbled itself before The God of Heaven, and now God is demanded a recompense. And that is what I feel The Lord is saying — that this world — this nation — is found weighed in the balance and found wanting! Repent, for The Day of The Lord is nigh at hand!

Several weeks later, The Lord led me to Isaiah 47. In this Chapter, The Lord addresses the daughter of Babylon, “Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man” (Isaiah 47: 1-3).

The Lord was saying that He was going to take vengeance on the daughter of Babylon — that she would no longer be the enticing lady that she thought she was, “Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms“ (Isaiah 47: 5).

He had used Babylon to judge Israel because of their blatant disobedience and rebellion towards Him, but Babylon had far exceeded the hammer of judgment that God would prescribe for His people to receive, :…………………..thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke” (Isaiah 47: 6). And not only that — but the daughter of Babylon thought that it would never come to its end,  “And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it” (Isaiah 47: 7). It was rich and increased with goods and thought it was untouchable, “Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: (Isaiah 47: 8).

Babylon thought it would never come to its end. It had everything it needed and would never experience judgment or sorrow, but as God would not be mocked — as His mercy only lasts so long — the daughter of Babylon would be judged, “But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments. For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me. Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know” (Isaiah 47: 9-11).

Doesn’t that sound like this nation? We see in Revelation 18, that, in one day — in one hour — Babylon is judged, “Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come” (Revelation 18: 8-10).

Babylon says, “………………………..in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow” (Revelation 18: 7), but, “………………………..in one hour so great riches is come to nought” (Revelation 18: 17).

Children of God, this nation is found weighed in the balance and found wanting!

A week later, The Lord spoke to me a solemn assembly. We see this in various parts of Scripture. Most notably, we see in The Book of Joel, “Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:” (Joel 2: 15). At the very beginning of the Book, we see, “Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,” (Joel 1: 14). In Zephaniah, we see, “I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden” (Zephaniah 3: 18).

A short time later, I felt like The Lord said, sound an alarm. We see this at the beginning of Joel Chapter 2, where The Lord says “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;” (Joel 2: 1). Later in the Chapter we see The Lord saying, “…………………..call a solemn assembly:” (Joel 2: 15).

So, that is what I am doing in this message — SOUNDING THE ALARM!

I feel The Lord is saying that we — the Body of Christ — we, His people — should be calling a solemn assembly — that we should be in prayer — that we should seek Him like we have never sought Him before — that we should draw nigh unto Him like we have never drew near unto Him before — that we should come before Him in weeping, and repentance, and intercession, and praying for the days that are upon us! Why? Because this nation is found weighed in the balance and found wanting, and Babylon is going to be judged.

Let us all seek The Lord with everything that is within us!
