Provoking the Snake

In a dream vision, the Holy Spirit showed me what looked like a clay vessel with a narrow hole for an opening. For some reason, a device facing it was shooting small balls, the size of ping pong or golf balls, right into the narrow hole opening. What I saw first appeared to me as a harmless game.
Then the Holy Spirit revealed to me that a snake lay coiled inside the vessel, and that the balls shooting into the hole were meant to hit the snake. Once provoked, the snake would emerge from the vessel and attack what it perceived as the source of the barrage of balls.
Just as the snake poked its head out of the hole to investigate and attack, to the right of the vessel I saw a half-clothed man—his arms and chest exposed—tied to a chair. He was helpless, restricted, and purposefully positioned to be easily attacked by the snake who sought a living creature upon which to vent its anger.
When I awoke, the Holy Spirit told me, “The man tied to a chair is the nation of America. The same forces that have restricted America have also disturbed the snake who in anger will bite and mortally wound America.”
Jeremiah 8:17 (NKJV)
“For behold, I will send serpents among you, Vipers which cannot be charmed, And they shall bite you,” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 8:17 (NET)
The Lord says, “Yes indeed, I am sending an enemy against you that will be like poisonous snakes that cannot be charmed away. And they will inflict fatal wounds on you.”
