Power Outage

In this dream, I heard the voice of my mother yelling, warning me about something. I can’t see her, just hearing her voice.
I am in my apartment bedroom, just below the ceiling fan with three lights. For years one of the light sockets is bad, trying to get a light bulb to stay lit is almost impossible, even though the bulb is screwed in snug. Maybe it is a loose wire or poor contact in the socket.
Anyways, I tug on the chain to get the lights to come on and nothing. I jerk on the chain at least three times and no power. There is a switch near the doorway to the room. I am certain it is in the on position.
The scene changes. I am in the bedroom facing the open door. I am tugging on a chain similar to the one on the ceiling fan. The chain is attached to the corner of the ceiling of the room just above the doorway, where the walls and the ceiling meet like a ‘Y’.
The dream ends.
Notes: There is a power outage coming soon. How long? I don’t know. When? I don’t know that either.
