Chapter 9
Jer 9:1 Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain (pierced) of the daughter of my people!
There comes a time for the true seeker of God when he realizes in his heart that it is too late for revival. You feel like you should be weeping day and night, but the enormity of the situation has left you numb and beyond tears. I regularly ask Jesus to let me have a tiny piece of his heart, so that I can feel what he feels about the spiritual state of our land. Although much destruction has and will come, Jesus never loses his sorrow for the stubbornness and blindness of mankind. It is a great spiritual challenge to remain tender and contrite continually over the reality all around us. Evil has a way of boring into your soul, like acid, eating away one’s tenderness and compassion. I cannot imagine what it was like in the concentration camps of the 40’s. How did anyone retain their humanity, when all around you was nothing but demons clothed in human flesh?
Jeremiah has and will experience profound weeping (Jer 13:17, Lam 1:16). He sees in the spirit what has occurred and what is to come. Shock has overtaken emotion. Are we ready for what is to come? The trial will not only be physical, but the greater test will be emotional and spiritual. Do we have enough oil in our lamps to keep the lights on as things get darker and darker?
Note the alternate translation for slain – pierced. I think all of us are weeping for someone or other that has been pierced to their destruction. This will not be the only time in this chapter that this hint will be found. I believe God specifically uses the idea of an arrow, a dart, a piercer, instead of a sword, or axe, or other such instrument of war just so that we’d make the connection to his era and ours, as how else could God describe an injection needle at this point in history?
Jer 9:2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers (apostasizers), an assembly of treacherous men (deceivers, ones who act covertly).
Jeremiah wants to flee not only to a place of refuge, but to be separated from his sinful culture. Who hasn’t felt the same weariness of soul, bombarded on every side by compromisers within the church, and nothing but liars without.
I believe God will lead many to places of refuge. There are several scriptures that speak of the strong possibility that God will provide places of refuge during the apocalypse, as he did for Elijah (1 Ki 17:3-7). See Jer 36:26, Zeph 2:3 and Lk 21:36.
Jer 9:3 And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
Has any generation ever been known for lying like this one? New words are being invented to cover up the liars and try to turn blame on the truth tellers – misinformation, disinformation, malinformation. You have to love the government security agencies’ definition of malinformation – anything that is truthful, but contradicts the government narrative! They have totally lost their minds. Why would anyone think that there is any hope of salvaging any of these demonic institutions?
The main point to know is that when you see people knowingly lie, this verse says they will get worse, not better. Once you go down the path of a lie, you must keep lying in order to maintain whatever position of power or reward that you have agreed to. The crucial point is that none of these people know God. I don’t care is he is a famous politician that says many good things, or a famous preacher that has been used of God mightily in the past. If they continue to insist that the jab is safe and effective, their proudest accomplishment, or that it was a gift from God, after 4 years this is something beyond mere ignorance. This is intentional lying and scripture says they do not know God. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. The devil is a liar, and there is no truth in him. You cannot continue to lie about one thing, and think you’re ok because you’re basically honest in everything else. No matter how much it will cost you in pride, humiliation, or popularity, you must confess and forsake all lies if you hope to enter into life (1 Jn 2:4, 21, Rev 21:27).
Jer 9:4 Take ye heed (beware) every one of his neighbour, and trust (put confidence in) ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant (awkab awkab – trip you up, seize you by the heel), and every neighbour will walk with slanders (as a scandal monger).
Jer 9:5 And they will deceive (cheat, mock) every one his neighbour (companion, fellow, friend, spouse), and will not speak the truth: they have taught (become accustomed to) their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves (disgustingly make themselves) to commit iniquity (to become crooks, to become perverted).
God is warning us that in times of utter darkness and judgment, those who you thought you knew all your life will suddenly turn into different people overnight. Who does not have a story to share of some relative or friend who shunned you at best, and reported you to the authorities at worst, if you violated one of the illegal mandates? If a person believes that their life, or even their lifestyle is threatened, it is amazing the percentage of the population that will rat out their neighbour, their close family member, or their lifelong friends. Some of the most heartbreaking stories were people who were injured by the jab. Their doctor refused to help them, telling them it’s all in their head. When they turned to family members, even parents, they broke all contact with them, as their reality disrupted the lying narrative that they were all clinging to of ‘safe and effective’. The emotional trauma far exceeded the physical injury in many cases.
By repetition lying became so common and normal, it was just as easy to do as breathing, and many are not even aware that they are doing it. That was one of main purposes of using the media so comprehensively to lie, lie, lie. It broke down the internal moral barriers of so many hearts. The reason the moral barriers broke is because they only had a form of godliness, and not a real relationship with the king.
I think we need to stop a moment and discuss this issue about trusting others. All of us have heard many sermons on 1 Cor 13, the famous love chapter. We’re told that love believes all things, hopes all things. Because we are taught only one side of this issue, we are eaten up by the wicked that are all around us, especially in our homes and churches.
Christians are some of the most naive, gullible people on the planet. I just read a comment yesterday about someone who said that in this town in Britain, the covid hoax is alive and well, with more and more people voluntarily masking up at all times, and the worst lot are the Christians. They’ve been taught this loving your neighbour garbage by muzzling up. Because they have no discernment, and because they ignore 95% of the bible, such as the passage above, they can be talked into anything. We just meekly comply, believing the best of everyone, that our doctor and our tv reporter would not intentionally lie about something so important as what’s best for our health, would they? If Jeremiah warns us not to trust our brother, why do we blindly trust strangers?
Another reason Christians are no naive is the way many of us have been taught by the authoritarians on our churches. Growing up as a catholic, the word of the priest was never to be questioned, especially when it came to religious matters, as he was the expert. In many protestant churches, especially the independent ones, who hasn’t heard the admonition of ‘touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm (1 Chr 16:22, Ps 105:15)? That immediately ended all legitimate questions and discussion of the topic. Exactly the same spirit as we see every evil mainstream media and politician engage in, where if anyone asks a legitimate question that contradicts the narrative, they call you a racist, some sort of phobe, a domestic terrorist, or whatever other insult of the day. You quickly learn to shut up and go along, or you were shunned and/or kicked out of your church. What a demonic, occultic practice we found ourselves in the midst of!
God wants us to grow to the stature of the measure of the fullness of Christ. Stop being tossed about to and fro by every wind of doctrine. Quit letting the bullies and insecure manipulators silence you when you know what they are teaching is a lie.
Perhaps we all need to retain the one signature truth the x-files taught us – trust no one.
Now some will say that is teaching against faith, as faith is basically trusting God. The key is trusting God, not man. This does not mean that you have to go out of your way to look for hidden motives or meanings every time your friends speak! As in all things, a healthy balance must be achieved. All I’m saying is that the body of Christ by and large lives far more in the ditch of naivete than in the ditch of excessive suspicion.
Jer 9:6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.
Lies and the truth of God’s word don’t mix, you can have only one or the other.
Jer 9:7 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do (what other course could I possibly take) for the daughter (the apple of my eye) of my people?
The only hope is to refine them in the furnace of affliction, in the hope that some shall be saved. Yet as we’ve read in Jer 6:27-30, many who undergo this process will be found to have no value.
Jer 9:8 Their tongue is as an arrow (piercer) shot out (that slaughters); it speaketh deceit (fraud, treachery): one speaketh peaceably (safety, health) to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart (in the centre of his being) he layeth his wait (waits in ambush).
More dark hints and revelations of what God has allowed wicked men to unleash in our day. Piercers that slaughter. Vile men speak that this is not a weapon, but a safe health measure. Yet in his innermost man he waits for your sickness and death, in order to profit from it. How much money was given to doctors for every shot administered, for every death protocol given in hospitals, for every covid death?
When you start to entertain the possibility that God spoke through Jeremiah this second, dark meaning, again and again in so many passages, its terrifying, yet oddly comforting, that God saw it all in advance, and now lets us know that nothing the devil does catches him by surprise.
Here is another teaching moment. Note how no one would of ever interpreted these passages in this way before the events of 2020 onwards actually unfolded. Almost all of God’s prophetic utterances are the same way. We don’t notice the fulfillment (or the second or third fulfillment) of a particular verse until after the fact.
I believe this serves two purposes. One, it’s to utterly demolish the pride of man. God has a way of laying down truth thousands of years in advance that no one can figure out using their own human understanding. That is why virtually all interpretations of future events based on today’s newspaper headlines being applied to the scripture is bound to fail. Note that I predict nothing of what is to come next, only suggesting possible scriptural fulfillments of recent events. God’s word is a marvel to behold, a source of wonder and delight, to those who eagerly seek the truth of all things!
Second, I believe it’s to hide what God is going to do next from the enemy. It seems there is some sort of rule or practice in the counsels of heaven that both sides are to present their intentions before the event actually takes place. God has his scriptures, the devil has Hollywood. Notice how many shows seem to contain predictive programming of what is shortly to be unleashed by the forces of evil? I don’t think these are coincidences at all, I actually enjoy watching apocalyptic movies and television series, as each time I watch them, I and my wife are astounded at all the precise revelations of events that have just come to pass that were considered fantasy when the shows were written years earlier. I was going to mention a few examples, but that is beyond the scope of this study. I am not suggesting that everyone should start watching tv to find out what the devil is doing, only pointing out the interesting theory that prophecy seems to be something that both sides use as part of God’s overall plan for humanity.
Jer 9:9 Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation (goy – Gentile) as this?
Again we find God labelling his people as just another heathen tribe, worthy of vengeance. North America has certainly degenerated into this same classification.
What things is God speaking of? Well in this chapter the primary transgression appears to be lying and deceiving. Can we not make an argument that that is the defining signature of the cabal today? Whatever other actual wickedness they are engaging in, and it is all encompassing, it all rests on the foundation of lies and deceit.
They must think they are so clever, launching world war 3 without most knowing that there is even a war taking place. Killing many millions and most not even aware that they are being slaughtered. Wiping our centuries of civilization and personal freedoms without most having any idea what has just taken place.
Jer 9:10 For the mountains will I take up a weeping (continual overflowing) and wailing (lamentation), and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast (behemah) are fled; they are gone.
Here is the revelation of the playbook of the cabal. Forest fires set by the government, birds and cattle culled due to imaginary diseases, governments paying farmers more money to plow over food crops rather than harvest them. In times of gross rebellion the land and the creatures within all suffer greatly.
These lunatics are bent on annihilating all life on this planet, it seems.
Jer 9:11 And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
The idea is the city will be rolled up like a pile of dung. Depopulation at its finest.
Jer 9:12 Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
Which man is open to the awful truth of God’s judgment, and doesn’t reject this unpleasant word?
So many direct energy weapon strikes on our forests and cities, especially in Canada. 2023 was a record year for forest fires. Who can forget the satellite imagery of a dozen or two forest fires all magically igniting at the same time over a very wide area of eastern Canada, burning up a horrible amount of trees, and bringing unnatural smoke to the eastern seaboard of the US?
Jer 9:13 And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
Jer 9:14 But have walked after the imagination (twisted lust) of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them (diligently goaded them to follow):
God always gives a reason when he judges us. Let us not skip over passages such as these that speak of the Jews forsaking Torah. Because of the heretical excesses of movements like the Hebrew roots sect, Christians naturally seem to fall into the other side of the ditch. To prove that we have nothing to do with a works-salvation message, we condemn any teaching that even hints of obeying God’s law, as if somehow that idea is an unclean thing. Let us stop such immature thinking. I think everyone who has been called by God to read these teachings is well past any uncertainty about how we are saved. By grace we are saved through faith. Let us now go on to higher things, how to please our Lord and Master in all things.
Law breaking and ignoring his voice led them to not walk in anything resembling God’s will. Instead, they were the judges of what was right and wrong. They walked after imaginations, conjured up by the lusts found in their carnal heart.
They were taught to follow after the chief of all the false gods. Baal was the most popular of all the pantheon. Every culture had this deity under one name or another. I believe this is saying that we were taught by our well meaning parents, and by our lukewarm churches to try and go with the flow as much as possible. Being nice is being loving and acting Christ like. Not offending with the truth was held up as some sort of higher virtue. Going along with what is the most popular is always called walking on the broad road. Look at how God blessed those prosperity preachers with their enormous television ministries, millions followed them. They represented the chief of beliefs, even as Baal represented the chief false deity of Jeremiah’s day.
Fathers, let us not leave such a tragic legacy, where it would be said of us that we diligently goaded our children not to stick out in the crowd, but to follow the prevailing customs and beliefs found in the church and society.
Jer 9:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood (poison, curses), and give them water of gall (venom) to drink.
You want to follow the crowd and do what everyone else is doing today, so you won’t be ostracized, deplatformed, and fired? Fine, God will feed you. But not with his word. Rather, with the snake venom. Not once, not twice, but as many drinks as you can stand. Every new shot leaves your body further and further cursed.
This is the second time in this chapter that God will give this rebellious generation snake venom to drink, to curse us. Never think that believers cannot be cursed, should they choose to walk in the path of the heathen.
Jer 9:16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.
Because you have chosen the wide road of the heathen, God will fling you out amongst them. This meant an actual physical deportation in Jeremiah’s time. I believe it can also mean that God will fling you out of the body of Christ, at least out of true fellowship with other believers, and you will be left with the wicked as your only companions.
In another fulfillment, the heathen are rapidly coming to our lands, and we are quickly becoming a minority amongst them.
Jer 9:17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning (subtle, wise) women, that they may come:
Jer 9:18 And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
God is calling for his true intercessors to mourn and weep, not to shout and clamour nonsense about victory and authority and harvest. Note that god is asking for wise women, not foolish ones. The foolish ones are dong the Jericho marches, the flag waving, the declarations of emptiness, living in a fairy tale of their own imagination, closing their eyes and stopping their ears to the destruction all around them. I will never forget that even amongst some of my closest Christian friends, no one really wants to talk about the unprecedented calamities around them. It almost always produced a dampening effect when we attended a certain prayer meeting. Even today, four years into the plan to end the world, there is really only one other person in my life besides my spouse who is willing to freely discuss these perilous times. Even amongst those who know a lot about what is going on, most just don’t want to talk about it. Human nature always tries to stuff the unpleasant away somewhere out of sight, out of mind.
Wailing was always a duty reserved for the women. Jeremiah gives them the prominent role for the rest of this chapter. Prayer has always been dominated by the women in church history. Prayer is what makes the will of God come to pass. No one has a full understanding of how important prayer is. Men must break with tradition and quit depending on your women to do all the praying. Men are doers. I’ve even heard great men of action sort of minimize prayer, almost mocking those who pray but then don’t engage in the same sort of works that he was called to do. The man in gravely mistaken. Prayer is the greatest work anyone of us could ever undertake. Never before in history will the survival of the church depend on prayer like it will now.
Jer 9:19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled (ravaged, robbed)! we are greatly confounded (ashamed, confused), because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.
The latter part could be translated as ‘and the land is forsaken and our dwellings have been thrown down’. Loss of prosperity is inevitable. How fitting a punishment for the materialistically obsessed Laodicean era. I think loss of material wealth will cause more sorrow than loss of health or the life of certain loved ones, because wealth is our god here in the west.
Jer 9:20 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.
We are all to exhort and beg one another that we take up the call to pray. When will we ever learn and truly believe that only God can deliver us now? Are many of us still clinging to the idolatrous idea that Trump will yet save us? Or perhaps our lawyers? Maybe our podcast will stir the masses and come to our rescue.
Women, teach the younger women in the Lord the importance of prayer. Intercessory prayer. Don’t waste your time and money attending conferences that are just geared to make you feel good and powerful. Find that secret place, where God can strip you of all that carnal nonsense and purify your heart, your motives, your thinking, your priorities.
Jer 9:21 For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces (strongholds), to cut off the children (olel – infant) from without, and the young men (bawkhoor) from the streets.
Jer 9:22 Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful (of grain) after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.
Let us wail for innumerable dead children, as babes and youths are perishing, even men of all ages are suddenly dropping dead in public. If you would of told me before 2020 that hundreds of athletes in the prime of their condition would suddenly drop dead on the playing field all over the world, who would of believed such a thing? And worse, that all efforts would be made to ignore them, and not to investigate them, and even forbid people from investigating them. Would you of believed that new mothers would rush out and inject their newborns with an experimental novel medical treatment, with no idea what it contained, nor with any assurance that it was proven to be safe and beneficial? What rational person would ever do such a thing, especially in this wussy era of helicopter moms and ultra woke culture.
None shall gather them. This was also fulfilled when they didn’t allow us to attend funerals. Doctors and coroners would not gather the dead and examine then, due to the fear of losing their jobs. Now because of the explosion in stillbirths, hospitals are skipping the funeral home option altogether and convincing the parents that the only real option is to let the hosptial cremate the babies. These used to be counted in the death statistics, but no more. They are disappearing into the fire, uncounted and unknown.
Jer 9:23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man (gibbor – powerful) glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Jer 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness (chesed – mercy, pity), judgment (mishpat), and righteousness (tsedawkaw – rightness, moral virtue), in the earth: for in these things I delight (desire, favour, take pleasure in), saith the LORD.
It’s kind of hard to believe that we find this passage in the midst of such an unrelenting reality check of mishpat. Yet this is why we need the whole counsel of God. Yes, God delights in mishpat – just decrees, verdicts and the like. But he also delights in chesed – mercy and pity, and tsedawkaw – rightness and moral virtue. Oh, how we need God’s mercy. James 2:13 literally says that mercy speaks loud against judgment. Let us give the father no rest day and night, and cry out for his mercy, which is his delight. Let us remind him that his mercies are renewed every morning (Lam 3:22-23).
Here is found true humility – we must stop trusting in the arm of flesh, but in God’s manifold glorious character that not only smites, but heals. Not only puts to death, but makes alive again. Where there is breath there is hope.
Jer 9:25 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;
Jer 9:26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
All these nations practised circumcision. Israel is thrown in with them but is singled out as especially wicked, as God states that due to their heart condition, he considers them as uncircumcised and therefore outside the safety of the covenants of God.
One could say that God is speaking of Israel and the church as one. Or the church and the world as one. Either way, or both, let us end this lesson with a heartfelt plea to our saviour to search our hearts, and see if there is any wicked way found therein, lest we suffer the same fate as these wayward Judeans.
