Facing the Fever

In a dream vision, the Holy Spirit took me to a public place that looked like a department store. I assumed I was in America, because people spoke in English, but I could have been elsewhere. Immediately, I saw a scene that caught my attention. A young black boy, who looked around 10-13 years old, lay on his back on the floor of the store. He was listless and shaking with fever. His mother was from Africa and spoke with an accent when she said, “I know this fever. Where we come from we have this fever.” She did not appear overwhelmed with worry. The boy had been in the peak of health and would get through it. I offered to call an ambulance, and she declined. Then I noticed the older brother of the boy on the floor. He was falling sick too.
We found a place away from the selling floor to put the sick young men. In a storeroom, we found large couch cushions for outdoor patio furniture, and placed the young men on them. With no medical help near, I looked over one of the young men to see what I could do. He was radiating such heat that my hands could feel it almost a foot away. This fever was too high—104 degrees Fahrenheit at least, and probably higher! I started to pray over him. I reached out with my hands and the Holy Spirit instructed me to place them over his mid-section. The Holy Spirit directed me to pray for protection and restoration of his organs—his liver, his pancreas, his kidneys, and more. His vital organs were under attack and they could fail, causing his death. Just as I thought of casting out the spirit of death from the young man, I lifted my hands and looked at them. They did not look like my white woman’s hands, but the hands of a mixed-race person, possibly a man’s.
I awoke from the dream vision, aware of the horrible impact of this plague on the human body. I asked the Holy Spirit to help me interpret the dream vision. These are the messages that came to my mind. The plague will appear to come from Africa and affect those of African descent. The plague’s virulence will be underestimated because it will at first resemble a known and less lethal fever. People will not seek medical care early enough. Many of the sick will not have medical care available to them. People will need to resort to healing prayer and step up in this kind of godly service. God will activate and send healing prayer warriors within all peoples, taking away their fear and emboldening them, to bring the Holy Spirit and his gift of healing to others in desperate need across the world.
