Darkest Before the Dawn

My fellow soldiers, I have a confession to make. For all my efforts to encourage others to hold fast, I find myself struggling to press toward the finish line. As our world becomes darker and darker with the increased levels of pure evil, the spiritual warfare has intensified. I find my flesh growing weak and weary from the battle. My spirit cries out for much needed rest. I feel as if I’m running on wet grass . . . trying to keep my pace as swift as possible yet remain upright. I dare not fall at this late hour!

The enemy wants me to think that I am fighting alone. That is a LIE! Anything he says is a LIE!

This morning while in prayer, I laid my heart out before the Lord, weeping so much that my eyeballs hurt. He put His loving arms around me and whispered His promises in my ear. He assured me I am not alone . . . many of you also are struggling. I was reminded of the scriptures found in 1 Peter 5:8-9 – “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

The Holy Spirit graciously sent me to re-read words that I myself had written. He laid it on my heart to revisit a message I posted on this site way back on 6-19-20 entitled, “Then Comes the Morning.” I wept! When we are battle weary and feeling forlorn, don’t forget what awaits us at the finish line!

The Apostle Paul stated it this way, “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, THAT I MAY WIN CHRIST. And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 3:8-14).”

Once again, I am called to encourage you, my brothers and sisters, as my Lord has encouraged me. It is always DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN! Hold on, beloved, for THE MORNING COMES! Perhaps the post I was led to revisit this morning was ahead of its time. I feel it is much more needed today than it was back in June of 2020. I thought to pull out a few excerpts for you, but instead I will ask Jonathan to re-post a PDF copy so you may have the full message of the original. I pray you will be blessed by these words and find strength to refresh your soul. Please read 2 Cor. 12:9-10 and take a moment to close your eyes while listening to a video of the song – “His Strength is Perfect” by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Harvest Is Here,
Averine
