Lisa B – Prayer Warrior
Greetings my brothers and sisters in Christ.
The Lord has been dealing with me heavily during October/November and revealing some uncomfortable things. I believe others in the Bride will be battling with mockers and scoffers as I am.
- 26th September 2020 – I saw a giant cartoon head with a huge open mouth, the neck had eight pointed legs coming out of it. They looked like spider/crab legs. I felt myself floating up and my legs lifted in a sitting position in front of me and I floated slowly towards the mouth. It got bigger and bigger and eventually I realised I was in danger of going into the mouth which was two or three times my size. Strangely I felt no fear as I passed over the lips inside the human/cartoon mouth. I looked around and noticed there were no teeth. Then the mouth slammed shut. End of Vision.
- 26th October 2020 – A flash vision of a big red crab.
- 15th November – Interpretation given – The Holy Spirit lead me to the term:
I had never heard of this concept and looked up the meaning:
Crab mentality - Crabs in a bucket can easily escape from the bucket one at a time, but instead of doing that they pull each other down whenever one rises to the top - thus insuring their collective demise. It is a metaphor that describes a person's pattern of thinking specifically how one tries to either impede the success of another or undermine one by finding faults and flaws in the other person. E.g. Pulling down a spouse, a friend, a church member.
The vision was of me being swallowed up by crab mentality. Researching further I discovered that in the Bible, we catch a glimpse of the crab mentality when Rebekah gave birth to Jacob and Esau; Jacob reached out his hand to grab his brother’s foot so that he could prevent him from being the firstborn (Genesis 25:26)
I realised that I have been subjected to Crab mentality by family, friends and mockers and scoffers. I believe the Lord wants to highlight to me that if we are not careful we can be swallowed up by this and need to stand firm in the Lord and not retaliate. Disturbingly, the vision was directed at me and the Holy Spirit nudged me into realising that I was been swallowed by my own crab mentality as well! Yikes!
Being surrounded by mockers and scoffers, I have been retaliating in exactly the same way. We are all crabs in the bucket, pulling each other down.
I have repented and repented again. Correction from the Lord is not a great feeling, but it is so wonderful to know that he does this because he loves us so much, and wants us to shine and move away from our sins.
The Lord has also pressed upon me the word ‘Meek‘ for the last few weeks. Something I battle with and continue to work on.
‘Meek before you speak‘ – my motto for the month.
May we all be aware of who surrounds us, the crabs are strong now and we are to dwell amongst them stronger, our strength lying in the Lord and not in our own retaliation.
May we all be aware, and not pull down anymore crabs.
1 Peter 3: 8-9
8Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 9Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
1 Peter 2: 1
1Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
3Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
