America and Korea to Share the Same Nightmare

In a dream vision I saw two people, an older American woman and an older Korean man, complete strangers, waiting at a terminal with others to take some form of transportation for a nighttime journey. It may have been a bus depot, as I did not see train tracks or planes. As they were waiting, a public announcement stated that there would be no more arrivals and departures until the following morning. The would-be passengers complained, and some left, but others decided to camp out and spend the night in the terminal.

The American woman and the Korean man, even though they did not know each other, decided to stay overnight at the terminal and wait for the next arrival and departure. When they found the hard chairs too uncomfortable, they both lay down on the floor, hoping to catch some sleep. The woman unpacked something that could be used as a blanket and offered to share it with the man. He accepted, and lying down next to each other under the blanket, they both tried to get some sleep.

As the American woman lay on the floor, still awake, the Korean man slipped into sleep, unaware that part of his right leg touched the woman’s left leg. Before long, as the man dreamed, his legs started to tremble as if he was experiencing a nightmare. He awoke with a start and apologized to the woman next to him. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you. When I was a boy, I grew up during the Korean War. Even now, I still get nightmares about the war.” The woman told him she was fine and was sad that his early childhood trauma still bothered him.

Then the American woman tried to sleep, and soon found herself dreaming a dream. In that dream, she was no longer herself but the Korean man next to her as a little boy! She saw the interior of his grandmother’s simple house and then in horror, watched the grandmother’s head bleed down the side. Seconds before, shrapnel had entered her skull, and though she was still sitting, her brain could no longer function. She would be dead in a minute. The American woman awoke from her own dream, recognizing that it had been the Korean man’s nightmare.

When I awoke from this dream vision, I asked the Holy Spirit what it meant. What was His message? The Holy Spirit responded, “Like Korea suffered in the past, America will also experience an invasion by Communist China, but this time North Korea will join China in the invasion of America. Like Korea, America will be torn asunder by a civil war. Like Korea, American civilians will experience ‘collateral damage’.”

Scripture:

Isaiah 22:5-11 NIV

5 The Lord, the Lord Almighty, has a day
of tumult and trampling and terror
in the Valley of Vision,
a day of battering down walls
and of crying out to the mountains.
6 Elam takes up the quiver,
with her charioteers and horses;
Kir uncovers the shield.
7 Your choicest valleys are full of chariots,
and horsemen are posted at the city gates.

8 The Lord stripped away the defenses of Judah,
and you looked in that day
to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest.
9 You saw that the walls of the City of David
were broken through in many places;
you stored up water
in the Lower Pool.
10 You counted the buildings in Jerusalem
and tore down houses to strengthen the wall.
11 You built a reservoir between the two walls
for the water of the Old Pool,
but you did not look to the One who made it,
or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.

Nahum 2:3-13 NIV

3 The shields of the soldiers are red;
the warriors are clad in scarlet.
The metal on the chariots flashes
on the day they are made ready;
the spears of juniper are brandished.
4 The chariots storm through the streets,
rushing back and forth through the squares.
They look like flaming torches;
they dart about like lightning.

5 Nineveh summons her picked troops,
yet they stumble on their way.
They dash to the city wall;
the protective shield is put in place.
6 The river gates are thrown open
and the palace collapses.
7 It is decreed that Nineveh
be exiled and carried away.
Her female slaves moan like doves
and beat on their breasts.
8 Nineveh is like a pool
whose water is draining away.
“Stop! Stop!” they cry,
but no one turns back.
9 Plunder the silver!
Plunder the gold!
The supply is endless,
the wealth from all its treasures!
10 She is pillaged, plundered, stripped!
Hearts melt, knees give way,
bodies tremble, every face grows pale.

11 Where now is the lions’ den,
the place where they fed their young,
where the lion and lioness went,
and the cubs, with nothing to fear?
12 The lion killed enough for his cubs
and strangled the prey for his mate,
filling his lairs with the kill
and his dens with the prey.

13 “I am against you,”
declares the Lord Almighty.
“I will burn up your chariots in smoke,
and the sword will devour your young lions.
I will leave you no prey on the earth.
The voices of your messengers
will no longer be heard.”
