To every brother and sister in Christ:
The Lord is at the door, and this brings my thoughts to eternity. Before the Lord returns, the world will undergo earth-shattering changes, and great persecutions will arise. As I was praying, the Lord spoke to me about the vital importance of endurance and holding fast. Many believers are struggling right now, but this is how the Lord prepares us for what is to come—He wants those who belong to Him to trust Him and look unto Him. Ultimately, He will allow the pilgrims who endure to the end to see beautiful fruit.
Recently, the Lord brought Lazarus to my mind. His name means “God is my help” or “the one whom God helps.” If you study the Gospel of Luke, you will find that in that story, the rich man has no name, but the beggar does—his name is Lazarus. Even though in the eyes of the world he was just a beggar, seemingly unblessed and abandoned by God, the Lord knew his heart. The Lord knew him; the Lord recognized him. He walked with God and held fast to his identity throughout his life. With his very existence, he proclaimed that God was his help. Much like the widow who gave all she had to the Lord, Lazarus honored the Lord with his meager life. He lived for the Lord with the very little he possessed, making him a true overcomer.
Therefore, we must prepare ourselves, and this preparation is about being ready to face the Lord. We also need to repent daily; words can hardly describe how crucial repentance is. We must establish a deep relationship with the Lord and not be entangled by the affairs of this world, which prevent us from focusing on Him. While we look forward to heaven, we must remember that our ultimate and sole focus must be on Jesus Christ and His redemption grace on the cross. This is the only thing we must hold onto tightly.
Many believers are feeling a profound sense of isolation and disconnect at this very moment. Living in these times, they do not know how to get through each day. What they believe and feel seems impossible for those around them to understand. The Lord calls such people to pray persistently and abide in His presence. Always remember: though you are in this world, you do not belong to this world. Therefore, sell your possessions. People are always grasping for things built from this world, unconsciously wasting a great deal of time. We actually have nothing; naked we came, and naked we shall return. What truly matters is the eternal life after we depart from this world.
Greater persecution will eventually come to test our relationship with the Lord—do we truly trust that the Lord is our provider? Do we truly believe that God will forgive all our sins? If we do not truly believe, even our desires to do good will lead us into a dead end. Therefore, this is a moment of unveiling. We must always thank God for allowing us to see things clearly. Paul called himself the “chief of sinners” in the later years of his life; he, too, saw that Jesus Christ was his only reliance. It is the same for us—the Lord is our only way.
Some are asking the Lord why the spiritual warfare feels so intense, to the point where their strength is utterly exhausted, and they even contemplate turning back. This is because Satan is trying to block more people from entering the kingdom of heaven. The scenes from the Book of Zechariah flash before my eyes, and I know the Lord is saying that our eyes need to be opened by Him. His light must enable us to see that only His blood allows us to have true fellowship with Him, so that we may walk in the light. When that happens, this world will no longer entangle us.
In prayer, I understood that the Lord was speaking to me about many who preach His word. They must preach what they actually live out. If you have not lived it out, it is better to keep that knowledge in your heart until it becomes a lived-out reality and a genuine revelation from the Lord. I am so grateful to God, for I know this is exactly what He spoke to me. He told me: “You must live out what you know. If you do not live it out, it means you do not truly possess it, and the knowledge you hold cannot save your soul.” I sense that the Lord wants every deceived soul to turn back to Him.
When each of us stands before the Great White Throne, it will be just us and the Lord, face to face. That moment will be the final verdict. Right now, there is still time. If you have not truly made Jesus your Lord and Savior, make that decision today! If we have not truly lived for the Lord, He is knocking at the door right now. There is still a lingering window of opportunity; do not delay, let Jesus reign and rule over your life. Time flies—spend the rest of your days serving God. This world is a school for the soul, teaching us how to dwell in eternity. What the Lord will ask us is whether we lived the life He gave us for His sake.
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” The Lord is reminding us that humility will protect us from falling into the snares of the evil one. Rely on the Lord, walk humbly through each day, and let His precious blood cover us.
Regarding eternity, I believe a few things are of paramount importance: in this life, we must love God, love others, forgive, and repent. Face every person, matter, and circumstance you encounter as if you are facing the Lord Jesus Himself. Treat others just as you would treat the Lord Jesus. Hold fast to this attitude; hold fast to this faith.
For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Thank You, Yeshua HaMashiach, for the price You paid on the cross. Every single one of us is a sinner; no one in this world is already perfect. Rather, we press on toward the Lord. May the Lord Himself reveal to us that He is our only supreme treasure.
“Lazarus” (Λάζαρος) is the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew name “Eleazar” or “Eliezer” (אלעזר). This name is composed of two Hebrew roots:
El (אל): God
Azar (עזר): Help, Support
Therefore, its literal meaning is:
“God is my help” (My God is my helper)
“The one whom God helps”
There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
