Why Will You Die? Why Will You Die? – Rachel Adamus

Why Will You Die? Why Will You Die? – Rachel Adamus

My daughter, my people have become a stench in my nostrils. I am weary of their pontificating over the doctrines in the Bible that are not true to my meaning! You think the great among you are the wise, but it is not so! Behold, I have called little children to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven! The weak, the poor, the ignorant, the foolish in this world–those are the ones I have called to be my ministers in dark times, to proclaim the power of my truth, to shine forth my light, to speak to the weary and strengthen them, to lift up the poor from the ash heap, to tread the serpent and the adder. Psalm 91:13: “You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.” I asked the Lord why He was redundant (serpent and adder are the same), and he said, “For emphasis.” We see the same repetition in Psalm 91. I will give to my people who are called by my name their inheritance: a great crop of souls! Yet those who mock me and my Word, who insult my servants the prophets, and who ignore my warnings of judgment will not inherit the Kingdom! Yet if you repent, you will be saved! Do not stiffen your necks and harden your hearts, oh obstinate people! If you would just turn to me, you would live! If you would just forsake your own wicked ways, your arrogance, their heaps of wisdom, your pontifications about what this and that means in the Scriptures–if you would just lay it all before my feet and allow me to burn it–then you would be saved! Did not the Pharisees think themselves fit for the Kingdom of God because they were so wise and learned in the Scriptures? And yet, even Nicodemus did not understand the most basic requirements of entrance! Do you think that by studying the Scriptures through your academic prowess you will come out ahead of them? Only by my Spirit are you made wise unto salvation! Do you acknowledge your neediness, my children, by coming before me and rending your hearts? (Joel 2:13: “‘Rend your hearts and not your garments.’ Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.”) Do you plead with me for my salvation, my wisdom, and my knowledge which I will only give to you through my Spirit? No! You are stubborn sheep, ever eager to walk your own way and tread your own paths! You want to feel the fanfare of your accomplishments! But what reward will be left for you in the Kingdom? (Matthew 6:5: “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.”) Oh, be wise, my foolish children and buy of me without gold and seek for me without silver. (Isaiah 55:1: “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”) Ask of me and I will give to you all that you need for eternal life–raiment for your naked and dirty bodies and salve for your blind eyes! (Revelation 3:18: “I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.”) “But we are not blind!” You say. “We have all the knowledge of the Kingdom!” You have no idea how utterly destitute you are! If you have not sought me for counsel and searched for me as for hidden treasure, then you have no knowledge. Only true knowledge comes from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17) I am your daily bread. Walk in step with the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25) Yes, my children, that means not feeling in control! Take my yolk upon you! Yes, my children, that means feeling every prompting of my Spirit to go the way I command and not the way you desire. Yet my yolk is easy and my burden is light! I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls! (Matthew 11:29-30) You need not drive yourself into the ground with good works as if I am a hard task master, nor will you be in a comatose state of self-indulgence. I will keep you on your toes if you let me, I will delight you with my presence, and I will give you the keys of the Kingdom! Oh, my children, why will you die? Why will you die??
