In a dream vision, the Holy Spirit showed me that overnight another great flood came down the rivers of Western North Carolina. People awoke in the early morning to see their local lakes and rivers flooded to high levels. The general feeling of the people that morning was “Here we go again!” After Hurricane Helene in 2024, the people were so exhausted from the damage and the massive, coordinated efforts needed to recover. The Holy Spirit did not show me if an actual hurricane had preceded or accompanied the flooding this time. Though the vision was short and had little detail, the message was clear: Prepare for another flood. Because of Helene’s historic damage and loss of life and property, Western North Carolina is more aware of and prepared for what future flooding can do. The Holy Spirit warns that this area will not go back to what it was before.

When I awoke from this dream vision, I shared it with a sister in Christ a few towns over whose property lies on another local lake. She shared that she had also dreamed of damage to her boat and dock on the lake from a future flood. She also shared that a forest fire engulfed the area nearby.

The Good Lord warns His people. Pray for the God’s protection of Western North Carolina. May any future area disasters bring people into right relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

    we went through fire and water, 
    but you brought us to a place of abundance.

Psalm 69:13-25

13 But I pray to you, Lord, 
    in the time of your favor; 
in your great love, O God, 
    answer me with your sure salvation. 
14 Rescue me from the mire, 
    do not let me sink; 
deliver me from those who hate me, 
    from the deep waters. 
15 Do not let the floodwaters engulf me 
    or the depths swallow me up 
    or the pit close its mouth over me.

Daniel 3: 26-27

26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”

So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

Isaiah 43:1-2

43 But now, this is what the Lord says— 
    he who created you, Jacob, 
    he who formed you, Israel: 
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; 
    I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 
2 When you pass through the waters, 
    I will be with you; 
and when you pass through the rivers, 
    they will not sweep over you. 
When you walk through the fire, 
    you will not be burned; 
    the flames will not set you ablaze.
