Voir Dire

In a dream vision, the Holy Spirit showed me a man’s belt laying in a circle. It was buckled, but not on a man’s waist. At first it looked like any canvas belt with colorful decorative designs on it. Similar belts display whales, sailboats, and even pink flamingos. But this belt displayed a series of American flags in a long row. What was unusual about the flags is that they were all upside down. The white stars on blue were at the bottom on the righthand side and only the red and white stripes were above.
I know little about flags and their symbolism, and as I was relating this dream vision to a sister in Christ, she immediately cried out, “The upside-down flag is the distress signal!” She immediately looked it up on her smartphone and read out to me, “According to the U.S. Flag Code, flying the American flag upside down is only meant to be done ‘as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.’”
I asked the Holy Spirit why He chose to show the upside-down American flags on a belt. I thought of the scripture in Ephesians 6:14, in which St. Paul states, “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…” The belt represents how we disciples of Christ are to armor up with truth to fight the forces of spiritual darkness. Upon more research, my sister in Christ revealed that during the time of Christ, it was Roman citizens (especially soldiers) who wore belts to identify themselves as Romans before others, and this is one reason why Paul chose to use the belt in his phrasing about armoring up. He was a Roman citizen and wore a belt. As disciples of Christ, we both arm and identify ourselves with our belts of truth.
In a separate but related word of knowledge received two weeks previously, the Holy Spirit had downloaded the French words “Voir Dire” in my mind. According to the Legal Information Institute, the literal meaning of these words is “to speak the truth.” In law, Voir Dire is “the process through which potential jurors from the venire—the entire panel from which a jury is drawn—are questioned by either the judge or a lawyer to determine their suitability for jury service. Also, the preliminary questioning of witnesses (especially experts) to determine their competence to testify.” The Holy Spirit was warning me that America is in the Voir Dire stage of being prosecuted and the courts in Heaven and on Earth are readying witnesses and juries.
Returning to the dream vision, when later I asked the Holy Spirit why the belt in the vision held so many upside-down American flags in in a circle, He compared the Roman belt symbolic of the Roman Empire to the “belt” of America, an empire in everything but name. The many flags on the belt stood for American satellite states and American military bases. Within a short timeframe, these many places of American political, financial, and military influence across the globe would put up distress signals of extreme danger to life and property.
America, repent and change your ways. Return to God the Father who has loved you from the beginning.
