There is a wonderful grace that few mortals ever do find,
And it is a star that all of Heaven just loves to see;
It is rather hard to find, that of the meek and lowly mind,
That most sought after gem, that of pure humility.

For there is no ornament on this Earth that is so rare,
And there is no jewel to compare in all of Heaven’s mart;
No, there is nothing that can beautify a soul so fair,
As the true deep treasure of humility, of humility of heart.
For the Holy Father has never by His balance weighed,
Such an exquisite jewel that is of such priceless worth,
As that of a pure life that has his all humbly laid,
By repenting, obeying, trusting the Great I AM, Creator of Heaven and Earth.
May within my hidden man, dear Most High, may I continue to grow,
On the narrow road and by trials upon me do bestow;
For the sweetest gift in all of Thy Word I know-
Oh, Almighty One, is to purify and to keep me meek and low.
For all of the Earthly crowns, they shall all turn to mold,
And all of the glittering pride and all of the vanity;
But oh, the meekness, Oh, how it decks the soul with gold,
And which shall never perish but shine on throughout of eternity.
