In a dream vision, the Holy Spirit placed me just inside the door of a several-story building in a city. I’m not certain exactly what city it was, but it was an American city next to the ocean, possibly New York City. About to exit the building, I peered out onto the street, and suddenly I saw water in the form of a fast-moving tide come right down the street. Sliding quickly, the waves of water were too shallow to resemble the water of a tsunami. I did not think it was a storm surge as I saw no threatening clouds above and as yet I heard no howling wind. For my safety, I thought I better remain in the building and climb its stairs to a higher floor.
Then the Holy Spirit repositioned me to another street parallel to the first one but at a slightly higher elevation. I watched the same thing occur—a shallow wave like a tide rapidly advanced down the street.
Finally, the Holy Spirit positioned me on another street parallel to the second one and even higher, where I saw the same thing happen again. The tide was spreading and encroaching upon one side of the city, street by street. The water was too rapid and becoming too deep for pedestrians to wade across safely. At the end of the dream vision, I had to step into a boat to be able to cross the street and enter a building on the other side.
Given the many dream visions of tides I have received over the last two decades, I do believe abnormally large ocean tides will course inland in coastal areas across the world. This may be due to a shift in the planet’s axis. The tides could also come about as a result of a change in the proximity of the moon or the presence of a planet-like body passing the Earth—both situations would affect the gravitational pull on the Earth’s oceans.
Beyond the dream vision’s literal meaning of a tide flooding a city, the dream can also indicate how cities will be overwhelmed by many factors, from migrants to financial insolvency and the depreciation of the city’s real estate. In fact, according to Investopedia, “An asset is underwater if the price paid for it is more than its current market valuation. Broadly speaking any paper (unrealized) loss relates to an underwater asset. More commonly, underwater relates to leverage or borrowing, where it means owning an asset that is worth less than an outstanding loan on that asset. In securities trading, this could happen in a margin account, where a trader owns a stock on leverage, but the company (stock) declares bankruptcy, and the stock holdings no longer cover the margin or loan the broker provided to buy the stock initially. The account is underwater, and the investor will need to find funds somewhere else to pay back the money (loan) they lost in the stock market. This is known as a margin call.”
Whatever the dream vision portends, the fact that the Holy Spirit repeated the depiction of tides encroaching on a coastal city three times in a row indicates how serious the warning is and how likely it is to happen. Repent, repent, repent!
