The Proper Hatred of Sin

There are those to whom I have given assignments. Those who are given revelation. Those who are chosen for a particular task. They ask for courage, and I provide it. They set out to fulfil my desire. And my desire is to expose and warn. Expose the wicked and warn my people not to do the same.
But somewhere along the way many fall into the same trap. And that trap is pride.
While the calling out of sin is much needed and justified, so very few are able to do so without being deceived by the very one who is the destroyer of men’s souls. Being filled with righteous indignation, inspired by my Spirit, they soon forget to guard their own heart. And the result is predictable.
My people, so few are able to handle this grave responsibility of being my true prophetic voice to the church and to the world. And why is that? Because of pride. Because of a lack of brokenness in my messenger. Because they fail to look toward the presence of their own sinfulness first and foremost before they pronounce judgment on others. They forget the one truth that should never be forgotten. And that is that all of your hearts are oh so desperately wicked. If you do not constantly embrace your own inner wretchedness, the king of deception will lead you astray, even as he has led astray those whom you rightly denounce.
This is why false prophets outrageously outnumber the true. Do you think that all of them started out as the devil’s disciples? Most certainly not. Many began with a true calling, even as Balaam once did. But the lack of brokenness, the lack of humility, led to pride blinding their souls. They dismissed everyone who did not agree with them in all things. Thus they fell into the same prideful delusions as those they were speaking against.
My children, is it not pride that is at the root of so many great evils in the church? Have not my ministers gone astray over the most common of sins? And why is pride so common? It is because my people so easily forget their own weaknesses.
Did not the apostle Paul continually speak of his own wretchedness? Did he not call himself the chiefest of sinners? Did he not embrace his weaknesses, even his thorn in the flesh? He knew the secret of staying free from deceit. He knew how to keep himself safe from the snares of the devil. And it was not by shouting, or claiming, or proclaiming. It was a continual recognition of his own constant capability of falling. He looked to me, and me alone, to keep him from stumbling. When he began to be in danger of forgetting, I sent him a thorn to remind him of his frailty. And after a little season, he became very grateful that I had done so.
This is why being called to a prophetic work is something not to be lusted after. Most that are called do not complete the race. In their pride, they soon forget that they are but flesh, susceptible to the same desires and impulses of those who have already fallen. And if not dealt with, their blindness becomes worse than those they were sent to correct!
I speak these things to you to warn you. Whether your ministry is little or great, take heed and beware of pride. Pride in all its forms. Pride that ends up straining at gnats and swallowing camels. Pride that ferociously attacks specks but ignores beams. Pride that whispers to you that no one has a handle on truth like you do. Beware all such thoughts!
While the wicked shall seek to dissuade you with false arguments to cast doubt on your calling, that does not mean that there aren’t real perils in doing this grave work. Heed the warnings herein, and you will need not fear and be carried away by the lies of the wicked, who simply want you to stop exposing them.
If you desire to do greater works, then take yourself lower. If you wish to be exalted in my kingdom, then humble yourself ever more greatly. In lowliness of mind will you find me. In meekness and in a total distrust of your own wisdom shall you hear my true voice. Be not like those who draw attention to themselves. As you can see, all that can be shaken is being shaken.
The world shall continue to grow ever more defiant to my commandments. Trouble not yourself over these things, but learn to guard your heart. These lowly ones who know their own helplessness are the ones that I seek. If you wish to do great things in the days to come, then learn what it means to take on the heart of a servant, sitting at the master’s feet. As the cross takes hold of your heart, you will be made capable of leading others out of darkness and into the light.
