THE PROMISE

He gave me a verse in the night, “FIRST JOHN TWO TWENTY FIVE.”
I was so tired I didn’t open my eyes, so I started repeating it almost immediately, “1 John 2:25, 1 John 2:25” rolled over and grabbed my pen and notepad that I keep nearby and scribbled it down, then went back to sleep.
When I woke up in the morning, I sat on the edge of the bed and opened my Bible to the verse.
Here’s what it says,
“And this is the promise, that HE HIMSELF, made to us: eternal life.”
I couldn’t breathe for a moment as I realized the power of that verse. I must of read it before, but it has never riveted my attention like it did in that moment.
The power of love and the revelation that everything we hope for and long for is contained in that verse. EVERYTHING.
Everything we know of Him and love of Him and are promised of Him – the reason He gave Himself = eternity with Him.
He loves us enough. He loves me enough to whisper that to me in my sleep, knowing that I would share it, because it’s for all US, for all of my brothers and sisters in Him.
He has PROMISED YOU ETERNAL LIFE. We CAN (and WILL) do ALL things through Him. Nothing else matters, but Him and His PROMISE.
