I had this dream for many years as a child, teenager and young adult. It is dark out. I am at the bottom of a huge mountain at night, and know I have to climb to the top. There is no time to waste. It is tortuous, difficult and exhausting. I repeatedly fall back down the upward path (sins), but have to get up and back on the trail. The ground is littered with debris, jagged rocks, shadowy figures trying to waylay me (demonic spirits), the dead (lost souls), blood everywhere. The knowledge of what these things mean came to me over the years. Even though it was a nightmare I always knew that the end of the journey was safety and freedom.

I see a figure in shining light in the distance, at the top beckoning me. For years I thought it was Anima, or an Angel, but I now think it is the Lord Jesus Himself. The figure was always so covered in light it was not possible to know if it was male or female. But it was tall and majestic and covered in glory, who else but God Himself?

I struggled with addictions (drugs & sex) and demons (childhood abuse) and have had two exorcisms in my life, so the dream is both figurative and literal. The top of the mountain is Heaven, obviously our real home, at the end of our lives on this earth. Keep moving onwards and upwards in Faith & Fortitude. Never Give Up. This symbolic dream is an ancient one seen in Christian art & literature, the Old & New Testaments, mystical writings and also represents the collective journey of humanity from Adam & Eve onwards, in our struggle to return to God after The Fall of Mankind.
