On the night of August 16, I had a dream that took me back to the Hong Kong high-rise apartment where I lived as a child. Without warning, a massive magnitude-7+ earthquake struck the city. I always knew that during the end times, earthquakes would hit places that seemed least likely to have them, but now I was actually feeling that impossible nightmare. The building shook violently, and deep terror gripped my heart. I dropped to my knees, screaming to my family, “Earthquake! Earthquake!” and cried out to the heavens, “Jesus, help me, save me!” For one brief second, a pure peace filled me as I saw angels in heaven nodding, confirming that choosing Jesus was the only right choice. Then, an even harder shake hit, and the building began to collapse, leaving me with just enough time to gasp my final words: “God, I give my life to you!”
Suddenly, the scene changed, and I found myself looking at the bottom of the building. Greedy people were using giant, thick industrial drills to drill and dig up invaluable raw materials, leaving the building on the verge of collapse and completely ignoring the safety of residents. Somehow I understood that the shaking happened because of hidden human sins—extreme profit chasing, avarice, no God, treating human life like garbage, using false weights – which felt exactly like the deadly Wang Fuk Court fire in Hong Kong last year. I understood that God had to expose the hidden sins. Then the dream ended.
Massive shaking and judgment is coming to uncover the dark secrets of high-rise cities, as God will no longer tolerate the sins of the wicked or believers who justify wrongdoing to make a living while blindly saying a lie “God will understand that.” The truth remains that righteous God tolerates no sin, and calls us to “stop sinning or something worse may happen to you” (John 5:14).
As disaster strikes without warning, one might only have a final breath left to call upon Jesus before time runs out, making repentance an urgent necessity. Repent before it is too late.
- Habakkuk 1:13: “Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.”
- 1 John 1:5: “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”
- Psalm 5:4: “For you are not a God who pleases in wickedness; with you, evil cannot dwell.”
- Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
