 The Bride or The Concubine

Ezekiel311

About a year ago I received a teaching from the Lord. And I have felt immense pressure these past few weeks to type it up and share it.

Tonight, as I lay in bed unable to sleep, this Dred came upon me a fear of the Lord and So I am getting up to type it.

It is a Prophetic teaching for today concerning Judges 19

It is a very disturbing read. Titled, “A Levite and his Concubine”.  I’m sure many of you skimmed over this reading and thought why on earth is a story like that in the bible? If you have ever seen it at all.

I know I did, until God opened the scriptures up to me. I am not going to retell the whole story.  I encourage you the reader to go and read it and reflect on it.  I am simply going to summarize and then reference it and point out some things.  It is rich with symbolism.  So much that a whole book could be written about this one chapter.

In this story There was a Levite that took a concubine, and she was unfaithful to him. It says that she returned to her father’s house in Bethlehem. After she had been there four months her husband went to her to persuade her to return.

The first thing that sticks out is that she calls him her husband, but he calls her a concubine.  Both the bride and the concubine know intimacy.   But, one is in covenant and the other is not.

She left her husband and returned to her father’s house.  If we look at this story with spiritual eyes. Returning to our father’s house would be returning to our own “Flesh” and blood.

It reminds me of this…

John  8:44

You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. he was a liar and a murder from the beginning. Not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he is speaking his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The Levite, his servant  (representing the Holy Spirit) and his concubine leave and as it becomes night, they realize they need to stop for the night.   An older man takes them in for the night while they are traveling.  The story then becomes somewhat reminiscent of Sodom and Gomorrah.

A group of perverse men are harassing the man who took in the Levite and his concubine. They want to have sex with the man/Levite.  The man says he has a virgin daughter take her.  The Levite takes his concubine and sends her alone out to them, and they rape and abuse her through the night at dawn they let her go she returns to the house.  Grasping at the threshold of the door.

It never says they killed her.  It Never says The Levite killed her. But the Implication is that Sin will Destroy us.

The following morning, The Levite rather Harshly tells her,

“Get up and let’s go” when he returns home he carves her up into 12 pieces and sends her body parts to the twelve tribes of Israel.

Finishing with this statement.

“Such a thing like this has never been done or seen ever, not since that day the Israelites came up out of Egypt. “Think about it! Consider it! Tell us what to do”! Judges 19:30

This is not a story to be overlooked Do what it says.

This is what it means.

This is the judgement that will come upon the unfaithful concubine that returns to sin, their father’s house. Though she thinks she is married to the bride groom. He only views her as flesh. Which will be handed over to the world/ sinners, to be abused, left for dead and then destroyed.

Carved up into 12 pieces and distributed among the tribes.

  1. Hands x 2 = Works
  2. Feet x 2 = Walk
  3. Thigh x 2 = Power
  4. Torso =  (Heart, Soul, Spirit,)  = life
  5. Arm x 2 =strength
  6. Head = Authority
This Carved up woman distributed among the tribes means that Are works our walk our power our heart our sould, spirit and life our strength and authority will be torn apart and dispersed among the faithful. similarly to the parable of the tallents.  Mathew 25:14-30
In Revelation 14:12-13
12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus. 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

Jesus is coming so soon; it is going to look differently than what most people assume or have been taught.

Many people call them selves Christians. They have a form of Godliness but no real power in their life.  No commitment. Isn’t marriage viewed as a commitment?

They skim over scriptures like this one and never ask the holy spirit to lead them or guide them into all truth.

We have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God and I myself am one of the worst offenders.

The core overlooked moral of this story is this, do not deceive yourselves.  You think you are a bride. But Does Jesus view you as a concubine?

Enter into covenant with him.  By his blood.  His word says if you Love me you will obey me. Obedience is Love.

The wise and foolish virgins come up often. And can also be reflected on in this reading. The wise go in with the bride groom, the unwise, unprepared, dare I say unfaithful are left out with the sinners where there is weeping and Gnashing of teeth.

None of us knows the truth of who we are. So, make every effort to be Humble, Obedient, and faithful.

1Corinthians 10:12 Careful when you think you stand lest you fall.

Mathew 25:1-13 wise virgins

Jude 1:24 To him who is able to keep us from stumbling and present you before his glorious presence without fault and with Great Joy.

Work out your salvation with Fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12
