In a dream vision, the Holy Spirit placed me in a city. Walking down the street, I encountered two friendly working women who welcomed me to join them. I followed them to the entrance of a building, when one of the women stopped and pulled out a sizable loaf of artisan bread from her bag. “Would you like a piece of bread?” she asked me. “Oh, yes!” I replied, “But can we find any butter to put on it? I like butter on my bread.” She nodded her head, and before she turned to enter the building—I assumed we might find butter somewhere in the building—she vanished into thin air right before my eyes! Stunned, I looked at the other woman and asked her, “Did you see that? She just disappeared. How strange!” And just as I was finishing my words, the second woman vanished into thin air too! As the dream ended, I stood there aghast, wondering if I was witnessing what is referred to as The Rapture.

As I awoke, I heard the words in my spirit, “I am the bread of life.” And as I remembered watching the women vanishing, one after the other, I recalled the scripture about how at the coming of the Son of Man, “one will be taken and the other left.”

When offered the bread of life (Jesus), take it eagerly and eat of it! Don’t hesitate, for soon it could be too late. Don’t wait to look for butter to put on the bread lest others be taken and you be left behind.

Scripture:

Matthew 24:36-42 NIV

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

John 6:35-40 NIV

35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

John 6:48-51 NIV

48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
