THE BLACK RIDER WILL RIDE ACROSS THE LAND

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. “I tell you that famine is coming to the land. For there will be a widespread lack of food and resources. The scales will be dropped; the black rider will ride across the land. For you have been found wanting. You thought you were rich, but you are poor. For this horse will bring his scales and the food will be scarce. You thought that you had plenty, but you have been found wanting.
The world’s goods have always been at your disposal; you have always been a land of plenty, but the scales will go in the other way. For this steed will ride across the land, and he will bring with him another horse, that is soon to come. Then you will see the pestilence that will soon be upon your land.
You thought that you were great; but instead you will see that you are poor. Prepare my people—for the shortages that come will be among many. “
