The Baby Under the Table

A few days ago, in a dream vision, the Holy Spirit brought me to a large room with a long conference table in the middle. I wasn’t sure if the setting was a government office or a church boardroom. Men were gathered around the table, and the man at the head of the table was a leader figure. They had come together to make a decision. I was invisible to all in the room.
What caught my attention was a small infant on a blanket on the floor underneath the table near the leader’s feet. The baby lay on his belly and cried out the word, “Help!” He was old enough to know and say that word. The baby suffered with an illness or deformity, but the Holy Spirit did not reveal to me what it was. The father of the infant sat to the left of the leader. I now realized that the meeting of the men concerned the fate of the baby.
Suddenly, a man on the same side of the table as the father, spoke out with resolution, “I volunteer to kill the child—somebody will have to do it—but it must be legally approved.” It was not clear to me if the man was a physician or not. This man did not say “mercy kill” or “terminate the life of” but “kill”. He made no bones about what he would be doing.
Right then the father requested to contact a designated social services agency during the meeting. He wanted to confirm the legal procedure for the authorized killing of his child.
When I awoke from this dream vision, I shuddered. Is our society heading toward a future in which the euthanasia of disabled children will be legalized? The Holy Spirit is warning us to protect God’s children, all of them. If we do not guard against the expansion of euthanasia in our nation, we may go the way of Nazi Germany that first euthanized the “unfit”, “useless eaters” and “life unworthy of life”—ultimately expanding the killing to include the Jews and countless others in a greater Holocaust.
