Start a Backyard Garden this Spring!

"They do not say in their heart, "Let us now fear the Lord our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest." (Jeremiah 5: 24)

During World War II, many people in America started their own backyard “Victory Gardens.” It was a great help to their monthly budgets, and a source of fresh and nutritious food for their dinner tables. My grandfather kept his victory garden for many years, even after the end of the war.

If you live in the city and don’t have a backyard, try a window box or look for a nearby gardening cooperative on a vacant lot.

Start with a 10′ X 10′ section of your backyard that gets plenty of sunshine. Remove the turf and extract all of the weeds and debris. Use a shovel to break up the soil to a depth of 12″. Then, work in 50 pound bags of steer manure, peat moss, and clean sand.

Plant seeds or seedlings after the danger of frost has passed. Pray over your plants and speak life to them in Jesus’ name. Ask the Father to protect your garden from predators, blight, and disease. Give preference to raising heirloom vegetables.

In the past, it was possible to grow potatoes using store bought varieties as a starter. Unfortunately, now our potatoes are sprayed with a growth inhibitor that prevents the eyes from forming. There are several good companies on the Internet that will ship seed potatoes directly to your home.

There is a large and powerful company in St. Louis that produces genetically modified seeds for farmers and agri-business firms. Their genetic modification work is a stench in the Father’s nostrils. In the years ahead, He will allow blight to destroy the crops produced from these seeds. Heirloom seeds were used in America for over two centuries, and are still our best option today.

Please pray for all of our farmers and ranchers here in the United States. The Enemy has been targeting them, and many have been lost to suicide. Please also pray for the people of Wyoming. Although it is our smallest state population-wise, it leads the nation in the number of suicides each year.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7: 14)

    For those who don’t know…
    Amen Christ Jesus.

    Any work opportunities in Wyoming?

Please, buy enough seeds. As I know in Switzerland we can’t buy anymore seeds. The big supermarkets are open but the part of the plants is closed. I don’t know why!

A good thing to know , after , the proper seeds and sunlight and fresh (non-chlorinated/fluoridated) water and ‘living’ soil ( one with lots of earthworm and microbial activity) of course, is that the best ( one of the best) fertilizers I’ve experimented with ( I test it out on potted plants first ) was that Celtic sea salt was excellent as a fertilizer. (for those indoctrinated in the USDA mentality as I was about ‘salt kills’ need to read Dr Maynard Murray’s book from the middle of last century – Sea Salt Agriculture)
Back to my experimentation: Celtic: the plants thrived ; Himalayan pink: the plants seemed okay with ; Morton’s salt : the plants died
The bottom line of sea salt ag is this( for those non-research oriented style folks) the ocean water has perfectly balanced mineral to ppm balance, and it’s always flowing !! This is just like in the body of man where the blood electrolytes (e.g. minerals ) are perfectly balanced always and always flowing! If the blood stops flowing the body dies. Same with the ocean current – if it stops flowing earth dies. If the minerals (aka electrolytes) get out of balance the ocean dies. I believe that may be part of the reason for so many marine animal deaths ( radiation and pollution and toxins and etc may be just the precipitating cause )
And for those biblical scholars who know that we, our body, is made from earth and that our blood is the life of the body … the rest of the story is elementary my dear Watson .
