RISE UP FROM THE DEAD – Stephen Hanson

43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” John 11 For this reason it says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:14

“I tell you that it is time to rise up. It is time to rise up from your slumber. For many of you are still in the grave. I spoke to Lazarus and had him step out of his grave clothes and come into the light. For death had taken him, and yet I called him forth.

For on that day when you have entered death, the grave will not contain you. And yet I’m calling you in this very hour to rise up. Rise up from the complacency that has consumed many of you. Rise up from the mundane and the ordinary chores of the day. Rise up oh sleeper!

For many of you are dead; you walk around with no purpose in mind, seeing the world in front of you, and yet your eyes are not open to Me. Death has taken you now, but in Me there is new life. You have become like dead-men walking. For what life is there is such as these?

I have come to give you life and to give it more abundantly; but you need to let go of your old grave clothes. For the raiment I give to you is of a heavenly attire. It is given to you to wear in my kingdom. For once you were dead but now you are alive. Let go of the old, and come and embrace the new.

You are my children and I have given you an inheritance. ”
