Red Sky and Chaos in New York City

This dream was given to me the fall of 2016.
The dream began in our apartment in a tall sky scraper in a large city. It seemed like New York City (I currently live in Texas). We were having dinner as a family. We were having a good time feeling safe in our cozy home. Then suddenly, there was a flash of red light that filled the whole room. I ran to our large window and looked out at the bright red sky. I looked down at the streets below and people were running and screaming. It was total chaos. The scene changed and I was on the street among the screaming people. I also started to run and scream not really knowing what was going on.
