I slept late this morning and received a prophetic dream about a mass casualty shooting event in Evanston, Illinois.
That’s all I remember but my heart was so stirred to intercessory prayer regarding this dream. I have checked online about this city and found nothing like what I dreamed about in the recent news. I must assume this dream may be a warning of a future event.
I’m not sure what to do with this WARNING! I certainly do not want to be an alarmist, but neither do I want to be responsible for not sharing a word of warning from the Lord. It is very rare for the Holy Spirit to be so specific as I am usually given puzzles to solve. I must be an obedient messenger and pass this information to all who will listen. Once I have received a warning, I am held accountable. I do not want anyone’s blood to be on my hands (Ezek. 33:1-9).
I am praying for God’s divine intervention. If what I was given can be prayed away . . . then it is my fervent plea that such an event will not even be allowed to happen. May the plans of the enemy of the souls of mankind be thwarted and brought to naught. If this is an event that must be fulfilled . . . then I earnestly pray for God’s great mercy. May those who might otherwise lose their lives or suffer harm heed this warning and stay protected under the shadow of The Almighty.
If you live or know of someone else who lives in Evanston, Illinois, please pass this information along. Take this warning seriously! This is not the time to be found in the wrong place at the wrong time. Pray over yourselves and your loved ones. Seek the Lord’s direction before attending any large gatherings that may precipitate such a scenario as envisioned in this dream.
I have sought the Lord’s direction as to whether to post this warning or not. I do not wish to cause any unnecessary concerns for the people of Evanston. I do not want to be the bearer of the possibility of ‘bad news on the horizon.’ But I must be obedient to the call God has placed on my life to help protect His sheep and bring them safely into His fold. I have received the following scriptures of confirmation to proceed with this post:
Regarding my hesitation to send the warning and any repercussions it may cause:
Psalm 118:6 – “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”
Matthew 10:27-28 – “What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.””
Regarding my responsibility:
Isaiah 21:6 & 10b – “For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.” & “. . . that which I have heard of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you”
Matthew 12:30 – “He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.”
Luke 2:8 – “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.” (Note: This one seemed an odd confirmation, but I tell you the Holy Spirit pricked my heart and reminded me that I am already ‘abiding in His field and my duty is to keep watch over His flock.”)
I have been in much prayer for Evanston all day today. If you are a prayer warrior, please join me as we stand against these attacks of evil. May our prayers bombard the throne of God in heaven! He is mighty to save! His mercies endure forever (Ps. 106:1-2)!
