Older Veterans Were Asked To Volunteer For Active Duty

VISION

I saw older veterans who had been out of the military for some 50 years being called up to return to active duty.

I saw some Vietnam-era veterans returning in their green combat uniforms. On their feet were black combat boots. Their covers (hats) were faded, worn out, and misshapen after years of being stored away.

Veterans were called to local junior colleges to report for duty. Old friends met once again—people who had served together at one time, back during the second part of the Gulf War.

Older veterans were asked to volunteer for active duty. They had to have been honorably discharged.

I was told firsthand stories of helicopter pilots from the 1960s and 1970s flying generals around during the second Gulf War.
