No Escape

I went back to sleep around 4:00 AM and I began to dream:

In my dream, I was at a store in a shopping mall looking at athletic clothing when all of a sudden I turned around at the sound of hearing the main doors to the store being closed. (I could hear the rattling sound of large doors being rolled shut like garage doors).

Then a bunch of employees from Chic Fil A came in with scanner like devices and offering free food to people as a means of keeping them calm and distracted from escaping.

I ran out of another entrance after I emptied my cart of all of my store items, and fled down the mall to another store that I parked outside of (I think it was a JC Penny’s).

When I got to that store its main doors were closing as well (keep in mind this was right around mid-day, not closing time), but I saw a side-door so I entered in and began asking and demanding them to tell me what was going on?!

The lady who was a clerk told me that the main doors needed to be shut in order to control the flow of people and also to ensure that EVERYONE who entered could be forced to wear a mask no matter what.

Then I woke up.

Context: I haven’t gone to any malls since before Covid started, and we usually do online ordering and/or in-store pick-up, so I don’t think the dream was about that.

What stood out to me was the sudden entrapment and slamming of doors; it reminded me of 1 Thessalonians 5:3 sudden destruction coming upon the people like labor pains upon a pregnant woman and not being able to escape.

I’m still going to ask for further guidance on what it means, but that’s what immediately came to mind.

Also, for me the emptying of the cart and just leaving spoke to me about being ready to just leave everything behind and escape!

Matthew 24:15-20
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.

18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

Remember Lot’s wife. Luke 17:32
