New York City The Plunder & Treasures Of The World Came Through Your Ports; Now The Tables Will Be Over-Turned: To Fire, Water & Ash
April 9, 2019
Only A Grain Of Sand
From the Civil War to WWII, the ships of the earth deposited their cargoes of the plunder and treasures, of the whole world, at your docks NYC. In the 1880’s a new breed of men, called the millionaires was born on your shores. The business and trade volcanoes, they wanted only the best! From WWII to today your airports, now do the same. There to buy, sell and trade.
Like a hose you have sucked, drawing the cargoes of luxury, and rapine. You have filled to overflowing your galleries, museums, mansions, condos, apartments. The ancient civilizations and empires of the past, have deposited their golden tokens, on your shores.
The piles of furniture, sculpture, porcelain, jewelry, paintings, are heaped up in your warehouses, in the stores in your antique district. Your auctions houses, they buzz with stolen lots, and crooked business practices, to worship the golden idol of mammon. Up the elevators these golden baubles fly to be parked against your walls, hidden in a box, your vaults. Are you satisfied now, is it all picture perfect?
Where your treasure is, is where your heart resides.
While down in the street, the homeless, sit on the cold concrete sidewalks, on a piece of cardboard, with signs that read:
1. Homeless No Food Dying Of Aids
2. Can You Please Help Me
3. Need Money To Go Home Please
4. Help Me & My Dog
I pause in contemplation and sorrow, silent. My eyes are lowered to their misery, and empty stomachs, hope and no future. But in my vision, my eyes, I see passing the well fed men and woman rushing by, wearing their thousand dollar suits, and silk dresses, with designer shoes and bags. They hurry on to their demise, ignoring the real treasure, their brothers and sisters. The end of all this is now upon you…
NYC all this will now be destroyed: Fire, Water & Ash
