Nah 3:1  Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies (kakh -ash – emaciation, hypocrisy) and robbery (pek-rek – rapine); the prey (teh-ref – something torn) departeth not (the idea is that the taking of spoil never stops);

Nahum picks up right where he left off last chapter.  God has just said that he is against Nineveh.  This is not a happy place to be!  Now, imprecations will be pronounced.

What was the second sin recorded in the bible?  Murder (Cain vs Abel).  Apparently, Nineveh was known for its excessive shedding of blood.  What a terrible reputation to have.  Sorrowfully, Canada is garnering a worldwide reputation for bloodshed.  Absolutely no restriction on abortion.  Continual expansion of euthanasia, with no end in sight.  One of the fiercer proponents of the deadly covid jabs, with not even a hint of pulling back on the continual recommendation thereof, even though the evidence is piling up sky high as to the deadliness of these things.  That is what a bought and paid for media can do for you.  Hide the worst sins, and keep everyone in continual darkness.  One could easily echo what is found here.  Woe to the bloody nation of Canada, killers extraordinaire!  Murderers of infants and the aged.  Destroyers of the depressed and the mentally feeble.  Haters of good, and lovers of evil.  Worshippers of every form of sexual perversion.  Enthusiastic supporters of genital mutilation, and lovers of sodomy.  Anti God, anti Christ, anti law, and anti righteous.  You too, just as Nineveh, are full of nothing but lies and hypocrisy.

Every tyrant builds his society on lies.  Hypocrisy goes hand in hand with lying.  While promising that all must share in the burden, the ruling elite exempt themselves.  Theft is also a foundation stone of any wicked regime.  No matter how much a wicked man steals, he never stops.  It never seems to be enough.  No matter how many dollars USAID has stolen from the American people, they continue to do so, in every way and in every means that they can get away with, even after they have been exposed for what they truly are.

And this is one of the keys to the wicked’s success.  They never relent.  They never stop.  They never let up.  You can expend a tremendous amount of energy in exposing and halting the spread of evil in one area, but then you look and there are a hundred other areas that need attention.  You take your eyes off of one place that you have attempted to fix, and before you know it, evil has come right back, even stronger than before.  Even as all physical things tend to decay due to the laws of thermodynamics, so does all morality.  Apart from the grace of God and our continual obedience, evil will ultimately destroy everything.  This is why the only permanent solution is the second coming of Christ.  Until then, we do the best we can, knowing that it is an uphill battle.  But just because the odds are always against us, that does not absolve us of the responsibility of doing everything that we know to do to resist evil in our own lives.

The prey departeth not.  The best interpretation is that this is a poetical way of saying that Assyria never stops taking spoil.  Even as the cabal never stops trying to forward their one world order, so Assyria never pauses in its obsession of owning everything there was to own.  So you see, the WEF is not the originators of the idea of ‘You will own nothing, and you will be happy’.  Ok, maybe the last part was their idea.  As far as Assyria goes, their motto could have easily been ‘You will own nothing, and be utterly miserable, and that is exactly the way we like it!’.

Nah 3:2  The noise (crackling) of a whip (lash), and the noise of the rattling (commotion) of the wheels, and of the pransing (daw-har – to move irregularly, only time in OT) horses, and of the jumping chariots.

Nahum wants to take us into the midst of the sounds of battle.  Evil is not vanquished without a fight.  Whether we fight in the spirit in our prayer closet, or have to fight in the natural for our freedom, as the American founding fathers were forced to do, we must find our courage and not shrink back from the fray.  In this case, Nahum is speaking of the dying echoes of a doomed people, one whose judgment is long overdue.  Judgment is noisy, messy, terrible, and chaotic.

Nah 3:3  The horseman (cavalry) lifteth up both the bright (glittering) sword and the glittering (flashing) spear (lance): and there is a multitude of slain (pierced), and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

The slaughter shall be so great that the invading army will stumble upon all the dead as they continue to advance.  This scene is probably referring more to the invaders on their horses, hacking and hewing down the besieged, to such an extent, that they had a hard time advancing due to the multitude of the slain that impeded their progress.

Any great battle will have descriptions of carnage and slaughter such as this.  Think about this most famous passage of one of the final battles of mankind:

Rev 14:18  And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

Rev 14:19  And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

Rev 14:20  And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

It is hard to imagine the degree of bloodshed that will take place to create a literal river of blood.

This verse reminds us of the mountains of corpses observed at the death camps when the Allies liberated them at the end of World War 2.  Mountains of corpses simply had to be bulldozed into the earth, as there were too many to give a proper burial.  Many love a good war movie, especially where the good guys win a great victory, and bring freedom.  But the reality of warfare is terrible to behold.  Only those who have been there can truly understand what it is really all about.

Those piles of corpses reminded me of the latest attempt of genocide – that of 2021, with the introduction of the deadly jab.  While I admire so many things about the American president, operation Warp Speed will forever be a permanent black stain upon his record, regardless of what logic or justification he may have deemed appropriate to engage in at the time.

Nah 3:4  Because of the multitude of the whoredoms (idolatries) of the wellfavoured (perfectly and completely beautiful) harlot (zaw-naw – wanton fornicating whore), the mistress of witchcrafts (keh-shef – magic, sorcery), that selleth nations (goy – Gentile, heathen) through her whoredoms (zaw-noon – adultery, idolatry), and families (tribes, people groups) through her witchcrafts (keh-shef).

The metaphorical meaning may be alluded to here, in that Assyria encouraged other nations to adopt her sinful and evil practices regarding general ethics and governance.  But the main meaning must be taken literally.  While Babylon was much more well known in the scripture as one of the chief purveyors of whorish and grossly immoral religious practices, Assyria here is spoken of being just as guilty.  There is no reason to believe that her religious practices were any the less obscene than that of the Babylonians.

We see in this verse that God is not squeamish over the choice of language used to describe what he sees.  I find it amusing and slightly ridiculous that some stuffy church people get upset if you use the mildest forms for cussing, such as ‘hell’ or ‘damn’, but are okay with so many other obviously sinful practices such as gossip, tale bearing, slander, lack of prayer, lack of bible reading, lack of witnessing, etc.  While no one should make any form of cussing a habitual practice, we all pick and choose what we get righteously indignant over, don’t we?  How many of us truly hate what God hates, instead of what our little group finds socially acceptable or not?

Assyria is said to have engaged in many sorts of whoredoms.  Their wantonly fornicating whores are described as wellfavored, or perfectly and completely beautiful.  Now does this mean that they lavished special respect and praise on the most beautiful whores who had no limits in indulging in the most depraved sexual acts?  Or is this a reference to their syncretistic religious practices, whereby every nation’s gods that they conquered, they absorbed into their own pantheon?

There are various allusions and snippets of facts to be gleaned from various historical records, that would have all contributed to this present denunciation of her.  It was said that the name of Nineveh was derived from one of its earliest queens who was said to be a harlot.  There was a document that spoke of a practice that every woman of the land must have at least once in her life fornicated with a stranger in the temple of Venus.  There was a king toward the end of the nation’s reign who was very effeminate, dressed and painted himself as a woman, and spoke with a woman’s voice.  Always there is the sense in these pagan religions of the extreme feminization of men.  The worship of Asshur, or Ashtoreth, revolves around the turning of men into women.  Ashtoreth has certainly been set loose in North America, has she not?

Note also the immersion in sorcery.   Sorcery always involves pharmakia, the mixing of potions and spells.  The jab was the modern ‘high tech’ version of pharmakia that is practiced today.  She was noted for selling nations out.  That probably meant that she corrupted their culture with the introduction of her detestable idols.  Look at this passage from 2 Ki 16:10:

2Ki 16:10  And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof.

Other nations abandoned their gods for the Assyrian ones.  Also, it was the policy of the Assyrians to dilute the nationalist tendencies of conquered people by forcible migration of alien cultures, and displacing the original inhabitants to other lands.  Assyria knew that there was no such thing as ‘Diversity is our strength’.  The knew diversity led to chaos, disunity, and a never ending conflict amongst neighbors, that led to no unity to resist one’s conquerors.  Take a look at what they did to the ten tribes of the north, after they had conquered them:

2Ki 17:24  And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

2Ki 17:25  And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.

2Ki 17:26  Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

2Ki 17:27  Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.

2Ki 17:28  Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.

2Ki 17:29  Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.

2Ki 17:30  And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,

2Ki 17:31  And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.

2Ki 17:32  So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.

2Ki 17:33  They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

2Ki 17:34  Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;

2Ki 17:35  With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:

2Ki 17:36  But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

2Ki 17:37  And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

2Ki 17:38  And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.

2Ki 17:39  But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

2Ki 17:40  Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.

2Ki 17:41  So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

As you can see, Assyria made all the nations that they conquered fornicate with other gods.  Selling families through witchcrafts can also refer to people groups, tribes, and nations.  She forced them to embrace other gods.  All to weaken them.  All to erase their heritage and history.  They made them fornicate with every other culture, until there was no distinct culture in any of these lands to speak of.

Is this not the goal of open borders?  To dilute the Christian culture of the west?  Do not be deceived.  While there are many secondary goals, such as increasing the amount of far left voters, destroying the economy, weakening our military and rule of law, the real reason for this tactic is the destruction of Christianity out of the west.

We all know what God thinks of illicit mixtures.  From prohibitions against mixing 2 types of material in one’s garments, to mixing 2 types of animals in a yoke, the New Testament caps this eternal edict by stating that believers should not mix with unbelievers:

2Co 6:14  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2Co 6:15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

2Co 6:16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2Co 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

2Co 6:18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

So while the language of Paul is much more benign, yet urgent in appeal, so God through the prophet Nahum is telling us that those who engage in any sort of illicit mixture, especially when it comes to idolatry and immorality, are guaranteed a most severe judgment.  Simply put, a verse such as this should remind us most deeply to stay away from all idolatry and sexual immorality, of whatever sort it is.  In Assyria’s case, their entire nation’s way of life could be said to be grossly immoral.  They were compared to a wanton fornicating whore.  Whether literally, because of their religious practices, or spiritually, because of their seduction of nations, they are to serve as an example of what is truly detestable to the Lord.

Nah 3:5  Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover (gaw-law – reveal, advertise, publish) thy skirts upon thy face (paw-neem), and I will shew the nations (goy) thy nakedness (mah-ar – pudenda), and the kingdoms thy shame (kaw-lone – disgrace, reproach).

Therefore it is not surprising that God is against them!  God promises to reveal their nakedness in public, in a way that they will all experience.  Everyone will see it.

We in the west miss the true significance of what God is saying here.  And that is because we have completely lost the utter horror of what a person felt in ancient time if he was forced to parade himself naked in public.  Because our culture has taught us that gross immodesty is somehow okay, the concept of public nakedness has lost its punch that it once had in biblical times.  God is literally saying that he will expose the female vulva – her external genital parts, for all to see.  You could not come up with a more graphic and shocking image of total and complete shame and dishonor than that.

But in the west, naked women are common.  For the life of me, I cannot understand how so many churches, specifically the ones who preach the born again message, allow their women to dress so whorishly in church!  Short hemlines, plunging necklines, too tight outfits, piercings all over their face like some African witch doctor, even female tattooings, my brethren, these things should not even be mentioned in the churches!  But if you try and speak of this, you are labelled as a bigot, a legalist, a sexist, a patriarchist, etc, etc.  Who gives a flip what you are named?  Modesty does not change according to what year you are living in.  Women who dress as whores have something wrong with them on the inside.  Why are you tempting the men?  Why are you drawing attention to your body?  Do you really want men to lust over you?  And do you then get offended when men start undressing you with their eyes?  This is nothing but the spirit of the world, working inside you.

Women, would you like to share the indictment of the Assyrians?  And men, those who refuse to step up and embrace their God given masculinity, do you wish to allow the feminist spirit of Ashtoreth to invade your soul?

Let men be men, and women be women.  Leave the illicit mixtures to the pagans.

In conclusion, to have one’s pudenda exposed for all to see means that your shame cannot be any greater.  That is the epitaph that will be placed on Assyria’s tombstone.  Let us pray that this is not what is placed on our own nation’s tombstones.

Nah 3:6  And I will cast abominable filth (shik-koots – detestable thing) upon thee, and make thee vile (naw-bale – to wilt, be full of disgrace and dishonor), and will set thee as a gazingstock.

God is not done yet.  He wants to cast dung, crap, feces, the most rotting, stinking, garbage upon Assyria.  If God is not afraid to talk like this, then why should we?  We all need shock treatment, when it comes to the seriousness of sin.  We treat our rebellions and wickedness ever so lightly in the eyes of the Lord.  God is casting the worst sort of filth upon Nineveh.  His intent is to make them so vile that every other nation, then, and forevermore, will know and understand that if a nation behaves as Assyria behaved, then that is the fate they can expect.

I once heard someone who claimed to have a vision of hell.  He stated that the homosexuals in hell were chained together, forever swimming in a burning lake filled with dung.  Since they loved to wallow in abominable filthiness so much while on earth, so God decreed that they should live in it forevermore.  If people knew exactly the kinds of degrading practices that many homosexuals engage in, that is covered up by the media and the censors, you would never have one ounce of tolerance for the abominable practice of homosexuality ever again.  Why does the government and the media force this filth in our faces to such an extent that it even has given them an entire month to celebrate this evil debauchery?  It is all to desensitize us, so that we will all end up sharing the same judgment and the same fate as these detestable Assyrians.

Wake up church!  Abomination is now the norm in our lands.  Blasphemy is celebrated.  Satanism is the official religion of the elite, and those in charge.  And we still want to dabble with this, entertain these things in our hearts and in our evil imaginations?

We need to meditate on more verses such as are found in Nahum.  Let God’s opinion of this stuff sink so deep into our souls, that we shall never be tempted to treat these things as lightly as we have in the past.

Nah 3:7  And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

When the powerful tyrants are in charge, most will feign obedience and subservience.  She will have many friends.  But let her her start to collapse, and it is every man for himself!  This sort of system cannot produce any sort of real loyalty.  It is run by coercion and force.  There is no genuine love for it.  As soon as one does not have to worry about retribution, and given half a chance to escape, all will take it.

This is a good lesson for any leader.  Whether you are a husband, or a pastor, or a boss at work, do people follow you because of your threats?  Do they really respect you, or only fear you, because you are such a tyrant?

L

When you pass from this earth, will anyone miss you?  Who will be found to comfort you, in your hour of need?

Nah 3:8  Art thou better than populous (amon – a diety of Egypt) No (Thebes, the capital of upper Egypt), that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart (bulwark, wall) was the sea, and her wall (protection) was from the sea?

This is the main verse that helps us date this book.  While some will try to claim that this referred to a partial sacking of Thebes (No) around 716 BC, the city was completely destroyed around 663 BC.  That is why I favor the date of around 650 BC, as the imminent destruction of Nineveh by Babylon in 612 makes far more sense than to try and date this book back in the 700’s.

Thebes was a mighty city, with a mighty God called Amon-re, or Amon the Sun.  They had formidable defenses, surrounded by much water.  She may have had the mighty Nile as a metaphorical wall of protection, or she may have had a literal wall built in the Nile itself, for a defence.

Whatever her defensive constructs were, God considered them quite formidable, but he wished to remind Assyria that they broke those defences down, and now do you think you will survive when they didn’t?

Nah 3:9  Ethiopia (Cush) and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite (not finite or limited); Put and Lubim (Libyans) were thy helpers.

Thebes lacked no allies.  They had all of Egypt to draw upon.  Ethiopia, Put (the Moors who dwelt in Mauritania), and the Libyans were all confederate with her.  When describing the resources that these nations could provide in assistance, it was so numerous that it was spoken of as being endless.

Nah 3:10  Yet was she carried away (removed), she went into captivity (was taken): her young children (o-lale – infants) also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men (gaw-dole – proud, mighty) were bound (raw-thank – fastened, only time in OT) in chains.

But it did not matter.  When God decreed a nation or city to fall, then fall it would.  Even with her supposed limitless resources, she was removed out of her place.  And here we see one of those stark descriptions of the realities of war and conquest that makes our skin crawl.  Infants were of no use to the conquerors, being a burden they did not have time for.  So what did they usually do?  They ripped the babies from the mother’s hands and bashed their skulls against the rocks.  And it usually never bothered the soldier’s consciences one bit.  Such was the nature of warfare.  Such is the nature of man.

We reel in shock and horror from such a thing.  And yet we allow the live dismemberment of millions of these same helpless infants while still in the mother’s womb!  And we try and claim the moral high ground?  How utterly absurd we are.

Anyone of value would be gambled for.  Those who once ruled the world, now would wear those same chains that they had placed on countless others.

Sometimes we come across a generation where divine justice is being meted out.  Most of the time we do not.  That is why we always need to be aware and mediate on the afterlife.  That is where perfect justice will be found.  Place not your hopes in this life.  While prophecies such as this serve to remind us that even the most wicked and powerful have their day of reckoning coming, we should not despair if we do not see it personally ourselves.  Let the promises of God’s word serve as sufficient comfort, even if you are not one of those who get to witness much justice firsthand.  And let us always be thankful for the fact that Jesus took upon himself the divine justice that was meant for us.

Nah 3:11  Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid (blinded), thou also shalt seek strength (a fortified place) because of the enemy.

Those that experience the wrath of God are often said to be drunken once they are immersed in it.

Rev_14:8  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Rev_14:10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Drunkenness and fornication are often tied together, and attract the wrath of God.

Here is another hidden prophecy.  Nineveh shall be hid.  As I stated before, it wouldn’t be until 1842 that the actual site of Nineveh would be rediscovered.  God literally meant that this city would be hid from everyone.  Not just hid from being a force or a power in the earth, but literally disappear.

Nineveh would desperately try to find allies to help her.  Just like Thebes, who did have allies, but it availed not.  Once God decrees a thing, he could bring you down with the tiniest of forces.  Think of the times that the Lord rescued Israel by using a ridiculously small number of men, as he did with Gideon’s 300, for example.

Nah 3:12  All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall (naphal – cast down) into the mouth of the eater.

Assyria would have spent countless years building these strongholds.  How much money and slaves were thrown into the construction of these things?  But in the day of the appointed doom, it would avail them nothing.

This verse reminds me of some shows that I have seen, where they go around and show you all the abandoned structures that the Nazis built while they were in power for such a short time.  It is actually staggering and phenomenal as to how many colossal structures they managed to construct in the time that they had.  How many countless lives were lost building those things.  And yet, all for nought.  Now they sit – rusting, decaying, a testament to man’s folly.  So it was with Assyria.  They would be destroyed as easily a ripe fig tree when you shook the branches and watched all the fruit fall to the ground.

Nah 3:13  Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open (paw-thakh paw-thakh) unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

While no commentators that I perused specifically referred to the gates as the breach in the wall when the river flooded, smashing a wide entrance into the fortified city, I think it does the text no injury to envision that this may have been what was in mind.  First and foremost, because it was time for God’s judgment to fall, Nineveh’s spiritual gates were thrown wide open.  Second, this played out in the natural when their formidable wall was washed away by the flood of the Euphrates.  Thus a wide open ‘gate’ was made into the city.  The enemy could then come in and burn down their city.

Saying that the men in your land are women (not ‘as women’, but are women) can have more than one meaning.  First, when the wall fell down, I am sure men’s hearts failed them for fear, knowing that they were now doomed.  Courage would have fled, and they would have panicked as a defenceless woman would have panicked.  Second, their immoral culture would have not discouraged and punished the feminization of men, as even at least one king dressed as a woman himself.  Third, God would have stolen away their courage, and their hearts would have been ‘feminized’ per se, that is, thoughts of fear and terror and helplessness may have overcome many who should have been there providing a masculine example of leadership.

[note – this is why every man needs a good woman behind him – she corrected 8 (a new record!) ‘could of’s, should of’s, would of’s in the above paragraph!].

Think about all the modern leaders today.  One of the reasons why Trump is so unique amongst the rulers of the nations is that whatever you think of him, he is a true alpha male.  Remember Biden and Trudeau?  Women in heart, both of them were.  People like that are eaten by alpha males.  Who can forget the unprecedented respect certain muslim middle eastern countries gave Trump, when he went to visit recently?  Those ancient cultures still know how to recognize and respect real men.  They knew how foolish it would be to give insult to Trump such as Canada’s Trudeau did.  And what did Trump do?  Besides embarrassing Trudeau with talk of a 51st state, he chose to punish all of Canada by essentially ensuring that this evil Liberal regime would get reelected, when it looked like they had no hope, after 10 years of madness and unprecedented corruption.  While true patriots of Canada were furious at Trump, I will not try and claim that I totally understand why he did what he did.  Perhaps God put it on his heart, in order to speed up and deepen the judgment on this sin sick land of Canada.  One thing I have learned is not to just throw in another opinion on the pile, when I honestly do not know why something is what it is.  That is Babel, and God wants us to back away from the practices of Babel.

Nah 3:14  Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

Here we go again.  God reverts to ‘mock’ mode.  I can almost hear the contempt in Yahweh’s voice as he jeers at Nineveh.  He tells them to go ahead and get on facebook marketplace.  Buy up all the potable water containers that you can find.  Fill them to the brim.  And while you’re at it, hop on over to Home Depot and get some of those bars that go over the windows in your home.  Then, put tariffs on all your neighbors, so that the oligarchs will bring all their brick making factories back from China, in order to make Assyria great again, as now you can produce all the bricks you need locally.  Go ahead, and do whatever you think you need to do to save yourself.  Do everything but the one and only thing that you should be doing.  The one thing you did when Jonah showed up, so many years ago.  And that is to repent.

Nah 3:15  There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off (kaw-rath), it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many (kaw-bad – become heavy) as the cankerworm (yeh-lek – devourer, locust), make thyself many (kaw-bad) as the locusts (ar-beh – grasshopper).

Go ahead and open your borders.  Bring in as many illegal immigrants as you can.  Put swords in their hands and deputize them.  Fill ten voting ballots for each one, in order to defeat those whom God has appointed to destroy you.  Make yourself as populous as you can.  Bring in every mercenary that you can find.  The fire and the sword shall still find you and eat you all up.  In summary, superior numbers will mean nothing.  Look at Israel today, a tiny nation the size of New Jersey, having only 7.2 million people, taking on Hamas and Hezbollah and the Houthis, and the Syrians and now Iran, a nation of 90 million people, and knocking the stuffing out of all of them, all at the same time!  And doing it only after warning all civilians to flee an area before they attack, in direct contrast to all their enemies who target only civilian sites.  While the prophets are filled with examples of when God fought against Israel, the historical books also speak of several instances where God fought for Israel.  At this time and in this year, God is clearly fighting on Israel’s side.  How long that continues, only God knows.  But I sure love how Yahweh continues to confound and make mockery of all the prophecy experts out there in the body of Christ.

Predicting the future based on your interpretations of scriptures not yet fulfilled is a fool’s game.  Why so many continue to attempt this and have not perceived the fruitlessness of this venture, is a bit of a mystery to me.  Anything that I would say regarding which scripture is being fulfilled and which is not would simply be my opinion.  And who needs another opinion, right?  Well, I’m going to give it anyway (silly me)!  Perhaps this is God rearranging the chess board so that Israel is temporarily surrounded by zero enemies.  She is at peace, setting the stage for a surprise attack by some nation from the north (remember nations to the east, such as Babylon, as spoken of in the bible as coming from the north, so don’t assume you know which nation God is speaking of).  Then perhaps the battle of Gog and Magog occurs.  Or perhaps not, as Gog and Magog is also spoken of at the end of the Millenium.  Is that a different Gog and Magog scenario than the one spoken of in Ezekiel, or the same one?  But one thing I will venture to say with certainty.  At some point in the future, Israel shall look on him who they pierced, and mourn for him as an only son.  Then all Israel shall be saved, as Paul prophesied.  But who knows how many moves and countermoves God and the devil will make before that momentous point in history is reached?

Nah 3:16  Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm (yeh-lek) spoileth (spreads out to strip and plunder), and flieth away.

What a strange thing to bring up!  Why is God so interested in merchants?  Kind of hearkens back to what was said about Tyre and prince of Tyre, respectively:

Eze 27:12  Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.

Eze 27:13  Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.

Eze 27:14  They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

Eze 27:15  The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.

Eze 27:16  Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.

Eze 27:17  Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.

Eze 27:18  Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

Eze 27:19  Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.

Eze 27:20  Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.

Eze 27:21  Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.

Eze 27:22  The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

Eze 27:23  Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

Eze 27:24  These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

Eze 27:25  The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.

Eze 27:26  Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.

Eze 27:27  Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

Eze 27:28  The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

Eze 27:29  And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;

Eze 27:30  And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

Eze 27:31  And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.

Eze 27:32  And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?

Eze 27:33  When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

Eze 27:34  In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.

Eze 27:35  All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.

Eze 27:36  The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.

Eze 28:5  By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

Something about the obsession with commerce is spoken of very negatively by God.  Perhaps the MAGA people should take heed!  It seems the top priority of Trump is economic, followed closely by strong borders, the border issue being vital.  Now of course who wouldn’t want a super Christian as president?  That’s never going to happen.  American Christians should be very thrilled and grateful that God has provided whom he has provided.  Would you like to trade with us in Canada for Mark Carney?  No?  I didn’t think so.  But nevertheless, money and commerce is not the foundation that will bring God’s blessing and protection.  While the unsaved MAGA supporter may be content solely with riches, those of us that belong to a different kingdom should never make money as any sort of priority in our own personal lives, nor be the main thing we look for in any leader.

Getting back to the verse, the wording in English is strange and abrupt.  While Nineveh may have grown obscenely wealthy as they were located in a very strategic trading area on the Euphrates, all this wealth will disappear just as suddenly as all foliage is stripped when a swarm of cankerworms show up.

Pro_23:5  Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Many are the accounts of riches suddenly taking flight and disappearing.

Nah 3:17  Thy crowned (min-ez-awr – prince, only time in OT) are as the locusts (ar-beh), and thy captains (tif-sar – military governor) as the great grasshoppers (gobe gobe – locust locust), which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

Cold may make the locust camp for the night, but the heat of the sun may make them suddenly take flight and disappear.  So it will be with all the subordinate military and political leaders that the king of Assyria may be relying upon.

This certainly reminds us of what has been happening in Iran recently.  Have you ever seen so many key top personnel of a nation taken out so quickly and with such apparent ease?  Stop and think about what we are currently witnessing.  Sometimes a nation will take years to plan to take out one leader of another nation.  In the space of a few days, tiny, insignificant Israel has taken out literally dozens of top military, political, and scientific leaders.  All without having to have a single soldier put his foot on Iranian soil!  This will go down as one of the most brilliant military successes and one of the greatest national humiliations (on Iran’s side) in all of human history!

Nah 3:18  Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

As a nation collapses, it is because of no real leadership.  When leaders crumble into insignificance, how can a nation survive?  Assyria’s great men will dwell in the dust.  That can mean that they will be brought low, but more likely means that they will be sent to their grave.  Without strong leadership, people scatter.  Without leadership, no one is able to gather them together.

There are two points that come to mind.  First, in the church, without strong shepherds, how can a congregation thrive?  With weak shepherds, all you will have are weak followers.  It’s pretty hard for sheep to rise up above their shepherds.  Jesus said it was enough for the student to become as his master.  I see very few examples of strong shepherds in the church today.  That is why so many sheep  have been scattered.  Scattered to all four corners of the internet.  Trying to find some spiritual food for their battered souls.  And even on the internet, try and find consistent spiritual meat to eat.  Oh, you can find all sorts and varieties of milk.  But meat?  Not so much.

Second, I shake my head in disgust when I hear of American believers who disparage Trump.  And no, I do not mean that you are not allowed to question and even condemn individual policies that clearly are not righteous.  But to dismiss and reject and hate the man altogether?  Are you crazy?

Who knows how long the Lord will tarry before he returns?  What if it’s another 100 years?  No man knows.  So much of our thinking is based on the idea that any day now, Jesus is going to come and rescue us from this mess.  And every year, he still has not shown up.

This is the world we have to live in.  To have a leader that is trying to do so many good things, and then to totally reject them because he chooses to do a few questionable, or even bad things, is absurd.  Why don’t you come and live in Canada, for example?  Or perhaps Britain, or France, or Germany, or almost any other country, where the leaders do nothing but only evil continually?  We all pine for someone that makes even one or two choices that are for the good of their people, and not for their harm.  But sadly, the takeover by the new world order is much further advanced in these nations than in America.  When you have a leader that is generally good, it is up to faithful believers to support them, and encourage them in the good that they are doing.  Someone made that case recently.  If you only contact your political representative when you disagree with what they are doing, then you are providing zero incentive for them to take the political and personal risks to take a principled stand, if no one encourages them when they do choose to do the right thing.  Just as it is wrong to only browbeat your own kids over every wrong thing, so it is wrong to rant and rave over every wrong decision by your leader, especially if there is much that they are doing well.

An utterly wicked ruler is one thing.  What good can you say about a Carney, or a Macron, or any of their ilk?  But someone like a Trump, be grateful while you still have him.

Or would you rather have Kamela as your supreme leader?  If so, then you are truly a lunatic.

Always applaud and encourage the good.  Always condemn and resist the evil.  Personalities have nothing to do with it.  Judge them by their fruits, and their actions, not their personalities.

Nah 3:19  There is no healing (kay-haw – cure) of thy bruise (sheh-ber – ruin, destruction); thy wound (mak-kaw – pestilence, plague, slaughter) is grievous: all that hear (shama) the bruit (shey-mah – sound, rumour, report) of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness (rah) passed continually (constantly, perpetually)?

Here lies the legacy of wickedness.  Whether an individual, a city or a nation, no one mourns their passing.  Does anyone (in their right mind) mourn the loss of a Hitler?  Or Nazi Germany?  Or Stalin?  Or the Soviet Union?  Sure, you hear of old school fanatics yearn for the glory days of those demonic regimes.  But that is because they were of the 1% that directly benefited from the rape and plunder of the populations by those vile systems of oppression.

There was no healing for Nineveh.  This is a crucial point to understand.  Contrary to all those pastors of mega churches and hyper grace theologies, you can sin beyond the point of no return.  Just because the bible teaches an absolute principle, such as Jesus died and paid for the sins of all men, that does not exclude the totally unrelated fact that certain people choose eternal rejection of this free gift while yet alive.  As a result, they cannot be saved anymore.  And the so called ‘unforgivable sin’  does not specifically refer to this truth.

While some wilfully and without coercion fully choose to reject God forever, some of them are wilfully given over to their sin, and become eternally reprobate as Romans chapter one teaches.  Others commit a sin of such a grievous nature in God’s eyes, that the gift of real repentance is withheld from them (see Esau, and king Saul).  Others simply live a life of such continual wickedness that for all practical purposes, they are the walking damned, having absolutely no interest in ever serving God and submitting to him.  This is where most of the so called cabal would find themselves.  They have chosen to make themselves enemies of God, and we are to hate what God hates, as David clearly tells us:

Psa 139:19  Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

Psa 139:20  For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Psa 139:21  Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

Psa 139:22  I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Psa 139:23  Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Psa 139:24  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

David reminds God that surely he will kill the wicked man.  He boldly and unashamedly states that he hates the true enemies of God with a perfect hatred.  He counts them as his enemies also.  He then finishes off by asking God to search his heart for any wickedness therein.  Obviously he is perfectly confident that this attitude toward the truly wicked is a righteous attitude, and not something to be ashamed of.

A cursory reading of this passage would cause the immature to wonder if this contradicts the command of Jesus to love our enemies.  No it does not.  Jesus said to love our personal enemies.  He never said to love the enemies of God himself.  We have lived such sheltered lives.  Until 2020.  Then the wraps came off the globalist plan to depopulate humanity, enslave us in a one world order of total dystopian nightmarish control.  We now look at the Gates and the Soros and the Schwabs of this world and realize that these ‘people’ are not like us.  They are wicked.  They have committed themselves to an all out hatred of God and his commandments by setting out to do the will of satan, which is the total destruction of all of God’s creation.  They would rather build their own creation.  One that exists in the virtual world.  They plan to live forever in the world wide web.  Good luck with that.

So when God says there is no healing and that your wound is incurable, he means what he says.  There is no redemption for these fools.  And you know what?  All that hear of the bruit (report) of your demise, are simply overjoyed.  They clap their hands in joy and gladness.  The wicked have no friends.  Indeed, they live their lives in constant paranoia, wondering which of their colleagues will be the next to try and stab them in the back.  They know nothing but treachery and deceit.  As a result, truly righteous ones terrify and enrage them.  They gave up all thoughts of God, and his holy ordinances.  To see anyone even attempting to live by them does not so much convict them as trigger the demons within to lash out in madness.

God ends this prophecy by asking who has not been negatively affected by all your evil works?  That is why everyone will be so glad when I finally remove you forever.

So even as for Nineveh, so will it be at the end of the age.  After the run up to, and then the actual tribulation, everyone left standing who is not part of that antichrist army will be overjoyed to see Jesus return and put a permanent end to it.

So we have come to the end of yet another book.  While perhaps not as gripping or captivating as some others, I pray that each and every one of you have found something of value that will open doors to revelation and understanding previously closed.

May the Lord Jesus shower you with his grace and mercy.

Solitary Man
