My Sure Anchor Holds

Even though many angry surges may roll,
To come challenge on my tempest-driven soul,
And no matter how wildly the winds may blow,
I thus remain so peaceful for I do know,
That with my sure anchor I’m safe and secure,
And that it will evermore endure.

Chorus

For my anchor holds, my sure anchor holds,
So blow your wildest, then O gale,
While on my bark so small and frail;
For by Yahusha the Savior’s grace I shall not fail,
And confident that my anchor holds, my sure anchor holds.

And even if mighty tides about me sweep,
With many perils that lurk within the deep,
And while angry clouds now cover the sky,
And I see the tempest, it now rises high;
Still I’ll stand all the tempest’s shock,
For I know my anchor, it grips the solid Rock.

Oh, how I can feel my anchor fast,
As I get ready to meet each sudden blast,
And the cable, though it remains unseen,
It bears surely the heavy strain between;
And so through the storm I safely ride,
All the way until the turning of the tide.

For as troubles almost overwhelm the soul;
And as griefs like billows over me roll;
And as tempters seek to lure me astray;
And the many storms to obscure the light of day;
But in my Refuge and King I can be bold,
For I’ve a sure anchor that shall forever hold.

Chorus

For by Yahusha the Savior’s grace I shall not fail,
And confident that my sure anchor holds, my sure anchor holds, my sure anchor holds!
