By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35. (KJV)

I write this message in relation to a recent prayer request. If you have not read it, I encourage you to do so, it was posted here recently.

Urgent Prayer Request for Handmaid of the Most High – 444 Prophecy News

None of us know when we will stumble and fall in life, for some it is actual physical falling, sometimes with significant consequences, for others it is a spiritual stumbling.

There are many lovely etchings by different artists in old copies of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrims Progress, that show particular moments in the spiritual allegory. One that is often depicted is the time that the pilgrim, Faithful, lends his hands to help his fellow pilgrim, Christian, who has stumbled and fallen, to get back up. A notably special etching depicting this action has the title ‘FAITHFUL COMES TO THE HELP OF CHRISTIAN’. The illustrations that show this moment from the allegory are moving and all too relevant for a Christian life, including a Christian life today.

It is surely one of the most important duties of a pilgrim, to help others up when needed, as we would wish our fellow pilgrims to do the same for us.

People do not make prayer requests without purpose. Individuals do so because they really need those prayers, they are asking their fellow pilgrims for a hand up, and that’s not often an easy thing to do. Many in the world believe prayer has no power, those that ask for prayer here do so because their faith is strong and they know the power of prayer. They ask for prayer from Christian communities, because there they hope for a helpful response from those who also understand the power of prayer.

It’s sad that prayer requests are not getting far more views, they are some of the most important posts ever made. Serious pilgrims know that the act of prayer for their fellow pilgrims in need should soon follow any request. Prayer is like helping hands offered, not unlike Faithful’s to Christian in The Pilgrim’s Progress, hands to help pull another pilgrim up from the ground, and show our love for one another, and who we follow.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1 John 5:14-15
‘Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.’ James 5:16 (KJV)
‘The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:’ Numbers 6:24 (KJV)
