1 Kings 18:17-40 KJV
And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? [18] And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim. [19] Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table. [20] So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. [21] And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. [22] Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord ; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. [23] Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under : and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under : [24] And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord : and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. [25] And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. [26] And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. [27] And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. [28] And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. [29] And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. [30] And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. [31] And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: [32] And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord : and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. [33] And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. [34] And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. [35] And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. [36] And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. [37] Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. [38] Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. [39] And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God. [40] And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

Yesterday, while reading through some recent postings on this website, I read something that pricked my spirit. I am not going to mention specifics, the poster is someone whom I highly regard. Unfortunately, at the end, they made a personal statement (though it was not made clear it was an opinion, which they minimized and negated the word of the Lord. I reread it several times because it was subtle and I do not think they realized just what they had said…

As I discussed this with the Holy Spirit, it reminded me of my own recent sin. I had been given a Divine Appointment with a stranger and shared the positive parts of what the Holy Spirit wanted him to know, however, I failed to include the contingency. The man had a call to preach, however this man has a very noticeable problem with lust. Even as I shared some words of praise from the Lord, he was focused on checking every woman walking by!

Later (moments after we left) I greatly despaired over my refusal to share this, his behavior had made me very uncomfortable. I wasn’t sure how to bring it up and he was needing to leave (I think the enemy realized that I was struggling (and his sin was very obvious)) though I have apologized to the Father with great remorse shed tears of sorrow. I have also tried to multiple times to reach out but the enemy has repeatedly blocked me from contacting him. As I again brought my own failings to the Holy Spirit, He told me to share my story. Obedience is better than sacrifice. I was supposed to deliver the entire word for this man, but I only wanted to deliver the nice parts! It was a sin of omission.

The church is guilty of Compromise! Weekly the pastors all over the world but particularly in wealthy nations, in order to keep from offending anyone (lest they leave and stop their gifts and offerings) they omit scripture that is life saving. It is sin. It is compromise. It is death because it not only avoids speaking truth it blocks the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It leads to wide road of eternal punishment.

1 Sam 15:22-24

Hear the Holy Spirit –

How profoundly you wound me when you take away the power and truthfulness of my Word. I AM not a God of compromise. I have defined sin and I do not waver. When you compromise, bend the “rules”, or say, well that isn’t really what I, the Lord has said, you make me a liar. I AM not a LIAR! YOU ARE!

Each person that you lead astray by compromise, by not being truthful whether by word, deed or omission, I will hold you accountable. I did not say, one thing then ignore it thereafter.

I have repeatedly warned that I find homosexuality and other sexual acts that do not involve a man lying with a woman a sin. Yet, you welcome homosexuals into your congregations without speaking truth to them.

Not only that, you allow them to lead in the worship, Sunday school and even in the pulpit! How can you expect them to guide you in my truth when they choose to ignore it!

When you do not speak truth to anyone in sin (in humbleness and love), you are condoning it. You have now pronounced yourself as worthy of judging, saying that I AM not! For shame, for you have the blood on your hands! I do love them and I want them to repent, so they will not forgo heaven. Now, you have even amended my scripture to condone this abomination. I AM specifically talking about “The Message” Bible as one obvious example, which has removed references to deviant sexual sin especially homosexual acts! How can you be so ignorant? Others, who know better for even my Spirit bares witness to your sin, you know you are in open rebellion!

Do not use my mercy and grace as an out. This is not at all what grace is about. You are listening to the evil one when you do this. You are no different than those who are rebelliously committing sin, by ignore the conviction that my Holy Spirit guides and provides. By overlooking another’s sin and instead saying that because you belong to me, and you are covered by the precious blood of my Son, everythings okay. Nothing is further from the truth! Willful rebellion is as witchcraft! You by your actions are mocking me. It is no different than when the religious men of the Jewish Way tried to twist the things my Son was teaching and making it as if he were a liar.

You are hypocrites and those who walk in my Way, see you for who you are! If this word does not convict you to repent, then fear for your soul. For I have declared that those, who say they have no sin are liars. You breathe, then you are guilty of sin. That is why you are to constantly seek Me, so that you can see the flaws in your thinking and in your actions. This is not to condemn you but to keep you from being caught in sin. There is a huge difference. David, my King, understood this, when he removed all yeast from the castle. A little leaven leavens the whole loaf. One sin leads to another. As you sin more, you are enticed to sin more and more.

It can start by listening to gossip, soon you are the “source” all your coworkers/neighbors/family come to for information and as much detail as you can locate. Same with lusting after a woman, it leads to dirty language, then clicking on those disgusting emails and soon you are surfing the web for porn and even locating a prostitute.

Do not think that you can “control” it. Sin has you, you have left the shelter of my protection and open to the many strategies of the enemy to ensnare you even more! It is a game you can not win!

I do not typically require you to make a public confession unless you have deceived the public. Pastors, prophets, leaders listen closely. Now is the time to be honest with yourself, with your God and with those you lead.

You are to sincerely repent. I know true repentance. You never fool me! If it isn’t sincere, there are consequences. Whether you think it is a little sin or a “big” sin. There is no difference. The consequences may vary in severity but I do not dismiss or overlook because it is a “little” sin. Sin always hurts. It hurts your relationship with Me, Always! It hurts you. It also hurts your relationships because it causes you to be alienated from yourself, others and those closest to you. When you hide your sin, you know. You realize that the person, does not see the true you. They may not know what your sin, (sometimes they do but they don’t know how to speak about it) but the damage the sin causes is present.

Come, come to me for forgiveness. Humble yourself before me in true repentance. I love you. I will not reject a sincere heart. If it is a powerful presence in your life, ask Me to guide you through healing and deliverance. I want you set free more than you do! Then, ask who else you may need to confess this sin and offer sincere repentance with them, and how to do so. I will guide you into all truth and healing. Trust me. Have courage to do what is right. I will be there with you every step.

I AM a God of reconciliation. My Son is the ultimate Reconciler. He died to reconcile you to me, a thing you could not do. He was without sin. Don’t believe the lies that He was married and had a family! He was sinless.

Grace is available to those who are faithful, to those who repent and do not repeat their sin. When you do repeat a sin. Come back to me and repent with a true heart and ask for help. Sometimes, it is challenging to remain pure, it is impossible to do so without MY help. That is why the Holy Spirit should be trusted and relied upon.

To use My grace as an excuse to sin is to completely twist the entire concept of grace. You cheapen a wonderful gift! You spit on the cross. You either do not understand the plan of salvation through the Cross and purpose of My Son’s great sacrifice OR you have been hardened by sin to the extent that you are encouraging others to join you. Woe to you for the reward you will receive is expulsion from my Heaven if you fail to repent!

I love you beloved, but My love is not excuse to sin. I AM not the God of Compromise. You have mistaken me for Lucifer, the pretender, the one who exalts himself above Me. I do not share my throne with anyone!
