The Lord keeps warning his sons and daughters to PREPARE for the difficult times ahead. As mentioned before, I had three strong dreams of great sudden destruction hitting the land and I was not prepared. So I worked on changing that. The first area of lack of spiritual preparation is rooted in not studying His Word enough. You have to eat the bread from heaven as often as possible and study the Word regularly. You have to be full of the Word all the time.
Yesterday I learned about another factor that leads God’s children to being unprepared spiritually for what is coming. These are unresolved issues. First I thought this is just a personal message, but then I felt led to share this. I did not write this down word for word, but I felt the Lord say:
“There are many Sons and Daughters with unresolved issues”.
Joyce Meyer is a well know minister here in the U.S. When she was a teenager her dad sexually abused her for many years. As Joyce went into the ministry God told her to forgive her dad. She did. But it did not stop there. As her dad aged and struggled with poverty God asked Joyce to go further and be the financial provider for her dad. Many would have struggled to do that, but the point is this: the issue was not resolved with Joyce just saying “I forgive him”. God wanted more. He wanted her to take care of his financial needs, and only then was the issue fully overcome and resolved.
Is there something God has asked you to do, but you have not done it?
Do you need to make a phone call to a relative that you stopped talking to, and say how much you love him/her?
Has God told you to bless someone but you have not done so? You repented for your disobedience and He has forgiven you. However, He has not changed his mind. He is still waiting for you to bless that person.
Has God asked you to give something away, but it is still in your possession?
You do not want to go into the coming great tribulation with unresolved issues, and having those issues being an obstacle to hearing his voice or seeing his protection. A person cannot be fully prepared spiritually for the coming sorrows unless all unresolved issues are resolved!
Please, seek the Lord and ask Him if there are any unresolved issues in your personal life. This is between you and Him, and only He knows if and what those issues are that may be hindering your prayers, including your prayers for your loved ones. This is especially important for those who have received dreams or a Word that they are not really prepared yet (like me myself).
The Bible is full of examples where people had to do take physical action to resolve an issue, because this thing was hindering God from answering prayers and protecting His people. I want to share these examples from the Bible to illustrate that God will hold back His answer until people fix things first.
Biblical Examples:
Unresolved Issue: God will answer you AFTER you take care of the oppressed, the hungry and the poor.
Isaiah 58:6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’”
Unresolved Issue: God may not hear your prayers until AFTER you treat your spouse with honor.
1 Peter 3:7 “Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.”
Unresolved Issue: The bones of Saul and Jonathan were not properly buried. God did not answer prayers until AFTER David buried them properly.
2.Samuel 21:14 “They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the tomb of Kish his father. So they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God heeded the prayer for the land.”
Unresolved Issue: God restored Job’s losses AFTER he prayed for this friends who triggered God’s anger.
Job 42:9 “So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; for the Lord had accepted Job. And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends.”
Unresolved Issue: God withdrew a plague that killed tens of thousands of people AFTER David build and altar and offered burnt and peace offerings.
2. Samuel 24:24 “So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.”
Unresolved Issue: Blind man received God’s miracle AFTER he obeyed and went to wash his eyes in the pool.
John 9:6 “When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
Unresolved Issue: An Israelite stole plunder that God said was accursed, and the entire tribe of Israel was under enemy threat because of that. God’s anger against all of Israel did not leave until AFTER they removed those accursed objects from the camp and punished the guilty man Achan.
Joshua 7:13 “‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: “There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”
