DREAM INTERRUPTED

I was having the most beautiful dream this morning and just as it was drawing to its conclusion, I was awakened by my daughter’s golden retriever jumping into bed with me. I wasn’t planning on sharing this but after prayer time, I feel like the Lord might want me to. So here goes.
I was on stage performing as the heroine in a big production like a musical or something with multiple acts and fancy costumes. The performance was drawing to a close and for the finale, the hero was singing a love song to the heroine (me). I must have had a real crush on the guy playing the hero, because I remember wishing that we were not pretending, that it wasn’t just an ‘act’.
No sooner did the thought cross my mind than we were in a different setting. I was sitting on a bench or something in a garden wearing a long, white linen garment and Jesus, my hero, dressed also in a long white garment with a vivid blue sash, was taking my hand and raising me up to walk beside him. He was singing a love song to me! That’s when the dream was INTERRUPTED! I can tell you a wet dog coming in from an early morning walk and jumping into my face was a rude awakening from such a fantastic dream!
Anyway, during my time with the Lord this morning I reflected on the dream and asked him, “If you were to sing me a love song, what song would it be?” Immediately, I received just these few words but set to a tune that was familiar to me . . . “I’ll never let go of you.” Years ago, I sang solos back when people used cassette accompaniment tapes (80s & 90s). The words and tune He gave me were from the song “Stubborn Love” by Kathy Troccolli.
I was also asking the Lord this morning, “WHO or WHERE is my harvest field.” I know His harvesters will seek out the lost sheep, but for some reason today He had me focus my prayers for His wandering, wayward sheep. Those who have already believed on Him but have just lost their way and need to be restored to the fold. There are so many that need to renew their relationship with Him. If you are one of these wanderers that may have strayed away looking for greener pastures elsewhere, our Lord wants you to know that you are still HIS . . . HE WILL NEVER LET GO OF YOU! He gave me another song to give you. It is an old hymn, “Lord, I’m Coming Home.” He said to tell you that He is waiting for you with ‘His arms of love wide open.’
Please take the time to look these two songs up on YouTube or elsewhere and listen to the lyrics. It will take less than 10 minutes. I promise your heart will surely be blessed. And maybe, just maybe, you will be drawn back to a closer walk with your Savior.
