Do Not Be Like the Rebels in the Wilderness

Hebrews 7-11: So, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. 10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Are we following in the footsteps of our ancestors? You ask, how so? Well, here’s what they did:

Numbers 25: 1-3: While the Israelites were camped at Acacia Grove,[a] some of the men defiled themselves by having[b] sexual relations with local Moabite women. 2 These women invited them to attend sacrifices to their gods, so the Israelites feasted with them and worshiped the gods of Moab. 3 In this way, Israel joined in the worship of Baal of Peor, causing the LORD’s anger to blaze against his people.

Because of this, the Lord didn’t allow them to enter into the Promised Land. So, what does this have to do with today and why does this matter?

Hebrew’s 4: 1 God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it.

Hebrews 4:6-11 6 So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. 7 So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”[e]
8 Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. 9 So there is a special rest[f] still waiting for the people of God. 10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. 11 So let us do our best to enter that rest.

But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. So, what should our response be? First, go back to the prophesies of The Messenger. The Lord speaks of repentance, forgiveness, obedience, and worthiness. We will not be found worthy if we continue to prostitute ourselves with Mystery Babylon. Judgement is upon Mystery Babylon (read Revelation 17 & 18). We need to separate ourselves so that we can be found pure and blameless for Jesus’ imminent return:

Rev 18: 4-5 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins [a]have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

Let us be wise virgins…not unwise. REPENT NOW!

Matthew 25: 10-12 “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. 11 Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’ 12 “But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’

1 Peter: 1:15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

Please take this to the Lord for confirmation.
