China Takes the Shirt Off America’s Back

In a dream vision, the Holy Spirit took me into the mind of an American woman visiting a quiet and pristine beach of an American coastline. The beach was so undeveloped and private that the woman felt safe to leave her purse and her overclothing on a towel in the sand when she ventured out into the ocean alone at low tide.

After wading through the seawater a bit, the woman found a raised sand bar and sat in the sun. She enjoyed the warm sunrays on her face, reaching her through a bright haze. Soon she felt the seawater lapping on her feet as the tide turned and started to come in. She decided to return to the beach and collect her belongings, but when she looked at the beach area she barely recognized it. The area next to the beach had been built up with commercial buildings that had not been there only an hour ago. Confused, she walked up to the place where she had left her clothing and purse and there was nothing there! All of her possessions had vanished.

In a mild panic, the woman walked barefoot in nothing but her bathing suit up to one of the stores of the new commercial buildings, hoping to find out where her items had gone. Perhaps the beach now had a lost and found, or she could contact the local police to report the theft of her purse. All her credit cards were gone! Even her passport was in the purse. So many of those items would be so difficult to replace, and now she didn’t even have her cell phone to reach out for help. Embarrassed to be in only her bathing suit, she entered a clothing store, and a Chinese woman greeted her as a customer.

“May I help you?” the Chinese woman asked. “Looking for anything special today?” The American woman explained that she wasn’t looking to buy new clothing, only to find her own clothing she had carelessly left on the beach’s sand. The Chinese woman, quite slender, looked the robust American woman up and down and pulled a hot pink shirt hanging on a rack. “We normally don’t carry your size, but this shirt may fit you,” she said. The American woman immediately recognized the very same pink shirt she had been wearing earlier that day, the shirt that had disappeared. There it was before her again. She was so happy and relieved to have found it. She tried to explain this odd coincidence to the Chinese woman. Since the store now had her missing shirt, perhaps it also held her missing purse. She started to describe the purse, its size and the color of the leather. But the Chinese lady just shook her head and went to the back of the store.

The American woman just stood helplessly and half-naked waiting at the counter of the Chinese store. She had no money to buy back her own clothing, the very shirt she had been wearing earlier that the Chinese store owner now possessed.

A Watchman’s Warning:

America, you mistakenly assume your geographic isolation keeps you safe and protected.

America, you have left your assets unguarded.

America, the tide is turning on you.

America, turn around and see your assets have vanished.

America, China will take your purse.

America, China will take your beaches.

America, China will build on your land.

America, China will take the shirt off your back. You will have no money to buy that shirt back.

America, China is not your friend.

America, you will stand half-naked and ashamed, at the mercy of others.

America, turn! Turn from your evil ways and live.

Scripture:

Ezekiel 33:1-11

33 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, speak to your people and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head. 5 Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone’s life, that person’s life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.’

7 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.

10 “Son of man, say to the Israelites, ‘This is what you are saying: “Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?”’ 11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’
