Children Of Light Word

Brother Jem
A word for 2025, received 09/12/24
As the world grows darker my light will shine more brightly through my people. You are my precious shining ones. Don’t hide your light. It is time to shine more boldly for my kingdom. As you do, I will draw the broken and the weary to my light. Be ready to embrace all those that I send. There will be much rejoicing in heaven as the lost come into the light. There will be healing and blessings poured out. I am going to move in a new way. Will you join me?
Application:
This is a simple word but it is also quite challenging. It seems that 2025 will be a very dark and difficult year for many people. But it will be an exciting year for the kingdom of God. God will be calling the weary and the broken to join his spiritual family. He asks: who will be willing to join Him in this new move of the Spirit. So how do we join him? In three ways:
Pray
This word is God’s invitation not a prediction. Nothing happens without prayer. God is expressing his intention to move, but unless we pray it through – it will not happen. Praying for our needs and the needs of those in our community is fine. But now is the time to pray kingdom prayers. We know what God intends to do so we can pray with confidence. Pray for the leaders of the Church. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in power in the church. Pray for the growth of small groups. Pray that Satan’s attempts to derail the move of God will be thwarted. We need to stretch our faith and pray bigger prayers.
Prepare
If we are to shine for God we need to be full of oil. We need to be continually filled with the Spirit by spending regular time in prayer, worship and in God’s word. That way we will be spiritually ready to act when God starts to move. If you have been challenged to take up a spiritual discipline, 2025 is the year to start.
Watch
Be expectant, God has told us what he intends to do. Watch for ways to support the work the Lord is doing. Don’t miss the move of God. If we are distracted by worldly pursuits, we may miss opportunities to serve when they arise. God may be calling some to serve in new ways or to mature in their spiritual gifting. Whatever your gift is, use it to glorify God.
So, will you join Him?
Scripture References:
I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.
(Joh 12:46-47)
the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.” From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
(Mat 4:16-17)
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
(Mat 5:14-16)
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
(Luk 15:7)
But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
(Act 26:16-18)
Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
(Mat 11:28-29)
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.
(Mat 25:1-13)
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
